    Crank seal leaking oil

Have you've gotten your manual and read it? You may need to pull the starter and lock the ring gear. You might as well pull the radiator, if the socket and ratchet are tight, you'll never get a puller in there and there might be enough room for your impact. Wouldn't a 46mm shallow socket be better?

    MX5200 HST Hydraulics Overheating

Did the pervious owner mention any problems? What brand fluid/filters did he use in the system? Why was he selling it? What is the actual fluid temperature? Is the fluid foamy? Are engine and hydraulic systems at the correct levels? What is the engine temperature? I assume you not only blew out...

    Crank seal leaking oil

You'll need to lock the crank down when removing the nut. Try an automotive parts store, they have pullers to lend. Stay curious as to why the previous owner changed the front cover. Between a slinger and a seal to have oil spraying out seems a little strange, especially if the seal was replaced...

    Tall cherry trees are down

As always do as you feel is best. Based on the photos if you desire a live edge table you may be disappointed, you'll be lucky to get a couple of mantels. Will you friend be milling the wood or send them out? Will he take everything trees, branches, all of them? Seems that there your trees you...

Z121S won't start without starting fluid

It' not the OP's problem, but confusion over it being a gas engine and not a diesel, D2cat is correct, never use starting fluid on a diesel, if you must, use brake cleaner still not preferred but way better than starting fluid. Just my .02

    Crank seal leaking oil

So apparently someone else has been in there for one reason or another, check it real good. Two trends of thought 1. Try to have all parts in hand prior to beginning the task. 2. Wait for complete disassembly then make a complete parts list, which after ordering will give you time to clean...

    Crank seal leaking oil

42 hours a year! That little old lady barely had enough time to drive it to from church. If it is the seal great, if not it sure ain't going to hurt to change it. If your tractor is going to be a long term hold you may want to consider additional TLC in the next off season, to insure reliability...

    Crank seal leaking oil

Woodsy, I failed to ask how many hours on the tractor and did you really verify it's the front seal and not from some other source? Has it been "flying off" since you've had the tractor or did it just start? It's most likely the front seal but you don't want to replace it and not correct the...

    hst pedal sticking

Does it only stick in forward, what about reverse? To unstick it, I assume you need to step on reverse. Be careful if someone other than yourself drives the tractor, until this issue is resolved. Is there any other linkage or components which could cause the sticking. If lubricating the exterior...

Rear ballast idea - good or bad?

Are your rear tires filled? If not you may want to start there.

    Crank seal leaking oil

Sounds like you're on the right track. I believe you can do it. I have no idea what shop charges might be but to pay somebody else to perform what you can do is foolish. The money you save can buy additional tools (you never have enough) and having the satisfaction of doing the job yourself...

    Crank seal leaking oil

Step 1 get the correct manual and parts diagram for your tractor. After reading the manual you can decide weather to tackle the job yourself or sub it out. Seal replacement isn't rocket science, it's a matter of getting to it. Take your time. Drop the loader. Only use Kubota parts, most good...

This may sound silly but are the brakes engaged? Just asking

    Grapple advice

It certainly wouldn't hurt to go look at it, ask the owner to demonstrate it. Ask why he's selling it. Then you can make an informed decision.

    Replacing my trailer deck

As always do as you feel is best. You say the boards are cut, you didn't say what type wood or if treated. White oak in my opinion is the best for trailers after that .8 or 2.5 CCA treated works well. Maintaining a 1/8" to 1/4 " over that length will be difficult unless you joint and plane the...

I found something in the driveway

Are the threads metric or SAE, that will get you started. If I had to guess it looks like a center pull pivot i.e. on emergency brakes or possibly a threaded pull handle on some type of slide valve. Just my .02

L1801DT Low Oil Pressure (Not cam shaft plug)

I'm not familiar with that engine. Did you put a pressure gauge on the oil circuit to confirm pressure. Is the oil sender unit good? connections? Does the oil pump have its own relief valve? Just my .02
