It's the front axle oil seal/pivot seal. I've tried once to replace this and ended up at the dealership to have it done because I couldn't get the darn seal to drive in squarely. Well, it's leaking (very small amounts) again, so figure something is wrong and it's due for another replacement.

Hi- What’s the best way to seat a new axle oil seal on a BX in the absence of a press? How do I get it to go in straight/squarely? Is there a grease or something to make the seating process easier? Thanks for any help/advice!

Interesting... I had a very similar experience at my local O’Reilly. They wanted like $500 for two hoses for my grapple. It was two 1/4” hoses with a total length of around 72”. I just walked out.

I drained some of the oil to see if that might make a difference. The oil level now reads about 1/2 way between low and high on the dipstick.

Yep, that’s what I’m talking about. I think the larger Kubota’s have them, but not the BX ( I don’t think the B’s have them either).
