Yes, I believe you are right about the 2501. I read that somewhere, but forgot it.

L2501, L3301 & L3901 are the new tier 4 models. I wouldn't worry about the L2800 having work done on it, if the dealer is any good the rig will be just fine. Sounds like a good fit for your needs.

    Is my new girl OK?

It's fine, no worries at all! One gallon low is not goin to hurt a thing in just a short time.

    M4900 what should I do

The manual for the L3800 says change front axle at 400 hrs. I will change it before that time, some change at 50hrs... but I don't see what the concern is here?

    Kubota L3901 Wheel Spacers

If your tractor as Ag (R1) tires the wheels are adjustable, if industrial (R4) tires then not. Mine has Ags and are adjusted all the way out, makes a big different in stability. Best you can do is have significant weight (500-1000 lbs) on the 3 pt hitch when using the FEL!!! Fluid filled tires...

    Operating RPM's

With the L3800 I use 1500 +/- for most work & 1800-2200 mowing. The old 3750 never seeing more the 1700 rpm.

    L3800HST Front Drive Wheel Question

It's called a open differential, most tractors, trucks and cars are set up this way front & back. Exception would be if the vehicle is equipped with posi track or locker in the rear. Some rigs have a locking front diff, but it's rare.

    Fuel consumption

L3800DT, 38hp, 1800-2000 rpm mowing with 5' hog, 1 gal per hour max in heavy grass, 1/2-3/4 gal per hour for lighter mowing, box blade or FEL work.

    Kubota L3750DT

The L3750DT is a tough old beast! We bought a very well used one 15 years ago and are still working the crap out of it. I found a service manual on line somewhere years ago, shouldn't be hard to find one. Any diesel rated oil is fine, we use Rotella. Cheap hydro oil seems to work OK, but I like...

    First 50 hour service overkill?

15-40 is fine in north Florida. I run 5-40 here, but gets a lot colder.

    First 50 hour service overkill?

Yeah, manual on the L3800DT says just the trans filter at 50 hrs, oil at 400. Trans fluid in mine is still crystal clear at 180 hrs.

    First 50 hour service overkill?

You didn't change the trans fluid did ya? That to me is very excessive at 50 hrs.
