M4900 what should I do

I found a m4900 with 317 hours on it . I think it is a 2004 model. The question I have is that it is a 4 wd and front transaxle fluid has never been changed. I drove it and it went into 4wd with no problem. No noise or vibration. What else or how else could I check it. Would like to buy it for a spare but only if it is solid.

Our old L3750 has close to 5000 hrs & doubt the front axle oil has been
changed more than once.

The manual for the L3800 says change front axle at 400 hrs. I will change it before that time, some change at 50hrs... but I don't see what the concern is here?
