Brush Hog-- Slip Clutch or Sheer Pin?

I've had 5 rotary cutters since the early 80s' and have never felt the need for a slip type clutch. All have had a shear bolt and rarely ever shear one.

    L3800 oil change

Always check before putting all of what the manual says. I don't know how much mine took, but it was less that 7.5 qts.

    Front loader/ Rear ballest

Ballast on the 3 pt is very important when a loader is added to a tractor. Seem like dealers would stress this more?

Nice tractor! I did a ton of work with a 2wd L245, 5' bush hog & box blade. No loader.

    L series loader question

You need to do some digging and fine out what models around the L2900 use the same frame. I bet the L3600 is a larger frame. If I where in this situation, I'd leave the L2900 set up for mowing and find another rig with a loader, I don't like to mow with the loader on anyway. Or trade yours...

Loader can only lift its own weight

Does the backhoe work as it should? If so this would eliminate the pump. Suction tube down by your right foot might be the culprit.

    Ballast box

Unfortunately with FEL work the front axle is often the fulcrum, but that is far from ideal. Its always best to have the rear axle be the fulcrum, have more weight on the rear than on the front axle and that means substantial ballast on the 3 pt hitch.

50 Hour Servoce, L3800 HST Quieter??

Typo, was meant to say "I was never contacted by a mod" Oh, I got your point and I said; "Can't we have a little fun around here?"

    Ballast box

Tire ballast does help keep the rear on the ground, but We do not want the front axle to be the fulcrum!

50 Hour Servoce, L3800 HST Quieter??

I was never contacted by a mod, probably because I never trashed HST. Just always stated I liked gear drive better. Nothing at all wrong with either type trans!
