Engine oil/filter and trans filter is what I changed at 50 hrs. Will do the trans fluid with SUDT2 at 400 hours.

Change your rpm often during the first 50 hrs and avoid max rpm.

I had to rebuild the front axle of our 25 year old L3750DT, but this was due to years of FEL work with no counter weight on the 3 pt hitch. As I was doing that I bought a L3800DT, our 3rd Kubota... :cool:

I'd replace filters and top off the fluid. Actually that is what I did at 50 hrs. :cool:

Sounds like way more metal than normal manufacture residue, after plugging up several filters. Something wrong in the trans/pto. I don't think you'll need a lawyer to get this ironed out...

They are a PITA! Mine is usually tied to a tree, but that doesn't work well. What MtnViewRanch has there looks like the best way to do it.

You are over thinking this. Yes you can mix UDT and SUDT2. UDT is good, SUDT2 is better, but they are very similar.

Did they say what caused the fluid to be "black" & not clear the first time.

Chain the high side down and lift. Giver all shes got.

I believe it's a water drain for the bell housing. Just in case water were to get in there.

The fluid has to pass through the filter before going to the hydraulic pump. From the pump it goes to the FEL, steering & 3 pt. My bet is the metal clogged the filter and caused the power steering to stop. Could be the problem is in the trans and the filter saved to rest? I'd like to know what...

I've not heard of Kubota replacing the whole tractor under warranty, but I'm sure it has happened. I also haven't heard of a problem like this on a new rig. If they wont replace it, I'd be OK with a good internal cleaning, after the problem is fixed, a free fluid/filter change at 100 hrs to...

Metal on the filter magnet at 50 hrs is normal. But your machine has a problem. I'd push for another tractor. The L4600DT is a great rig and this isn't normal!

Just change the filters and top it off with SUDT2 and don't worry about it.
