    Snow Blower 3 pt BL2664 vs BLMX3164 on B2620

What an interesting discussion! For some additional data points I'll add the following: 1) our B7510 uses a 63" front mount blower 2) our B7200 uses a 51" rear mount blower Both tractors have HST transmissions. From a "feel" perspective, the B7200 / 51" blower seems the better fit, with...

Dividing Up A Long Piece Of Chain

One of the most useful chains I have is about 25 feet long. Three feet from one end another three foot piece has been added on to form a "Y". Grab hooks are on all three chain ends. I initially thought this was a stoopid thing to have. Now it's my "go to" chain because it can do so many...

    Winter Gas

Two comments: 1) there are many factors at work which rob vehicles of fuel economy in lower temperatures; winter-blend fuel is but one of them. Think of extra friction losses, extra tire rolling resistance, plus that biggie, increased fuel in the mixture because we now have a lower temperature...

    Hydraulic Chute?

Keith - the one recommendation I can easily make for a battery is NOT CANADIAN TIRE. If you install one of their batteries in your tractor you have no warranty. They only warranty batteries installed in cars, and powersport batteries installed in powersport equipment. For those of us wanting...

    MMM: Deck issues, questions RCK60-24B

Thanks for the lock-n-lube recommendation, Hokie. Looks like a great idea. BTW I have the same mowing deck. Mine had been unused for a few years, poorly stored, etc. Generally neglected. I counted strokes of the grease gun when greasing the spindles the first time. All three of them took...

    Let it snow!

Spent over two hours tonight blowing snow at the airport. The B7200 and 51" Meteor blower were working like a charm. It amazes me how such little rated engine horsepower can do so much work. This tractor has no lights whatsoever so it was a real pleasure blowing snow under what looks like a...

    Insight please B2301

Hmmm... Scratching the old noggin here and thinking about what I've been feeling in the steering wheel, thanks to your comment, Mikey. Now that I apply a little more noodle power I realize what's going on. With the front-mount blower there's a fair bit of weight out front. The change in...

    Hydraulic Chute?

This statement is the closest to the truth that we are going to get. The winch motor is looking for high current. It should be wired up in this fashion (excuse the limitations of a pure text posting!) Battery + -->in-line current limiter --> direction control device (switch)-->winch motor I...

    Insight please B2301

Our B7510 spent two hours blowing snow yesterday. It has a heated cab and the engine was making enough heat that I had to take my coat off as I was getting too warm, but needed the heat to keep the windshield defrosted. I, too, was looking at the temp gauge with great interest as the needle...

    Protected tractor

I don't know about you guys, but that looks like a very uncomfortable place for the operator to sit. Not because it lacks creature comforts, but because branches and "stuff", bent back by the metal protection bars, will inevitably "snap back" into the cab as they come past the door openings...

    Hour meter Question

Not necessarily so for all models. According to the operator's manual, our B7200 records time at rated engine RPM. You can run it for quite a while at less than rated RPM before you finally rack up one hour of hourmeter time.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Blew snow from four laneways with the B7510. Had about 10" of nice powder. Now for the embarrassing admission that the cab was so toasty and warm that I had to take off my coat... Truly NoJacketRequired! Yeah, I'm liking this tractor/cab/front mount blower A LOT!

Fabricating power shoot control for a BX5450 snowblower

Couldn't agree more with this statement. We like to think of snow as light, fluffy stuff, but that simply ain't so. I've picked up frozen chunks (you know the stuff you kick out of the wheel wells of your car? yeah, that stuff) and thought they were going to take the discharge chute...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

Wouldn't have thought of using a pipe as the cutting edge - great idea to avoid scalping the gravel. We're getting a fresh dump of about 8" of powder right now. I think I'll be plugging in the Kubota in prep for a noon-hour assault on the driveway. Heck, I will likely do my two neighbors...

    That's gotta hurt!!!

Part of basic firearm safety training is safe operation of the firearm, including how to ensure soft skin doesn't get slammed between pieces of hard steel. Ouch is right, but the real ouch should be felt by the person who was responsible for safety instruction. This should keep them awake a...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

The cab on our B7510 is an aftermarket cab. The previous owner liberally applied sound-deadening material to every flat metal surface inside the cab. I'm sure it has made some appreciable reduction in interior noise levels. That having been said, I've spent a lifetime around some pretty...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

There be no jammin' in the cab of our B7510 - it's WAAAY too loud in there already. I wear my David Clark earmuffs when blowing snow, otherwise hearing loss is almost a given. Yeah, it really is that loud inside the cab. It seems to trap all the HST noise. In the summer I take the doors off...

    Salt in da wood stove

You're kidding, right? Salt in da stove = kiss your chimney goodbye! Salt is pretty nasty from a corrosion perspective. If you're looking for a product that will help with this situation, try to find one called Kathite-H. My father has been using this for about 30 years. Doesn't harm the...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

No need for envy. I have one tractor (B7510) with a heated cab and front-mounted blower and one tractor (B7200) with no cab and a rear mounted blower. They both work well - I just have to wear a lot more clothing to operate the cab-less unit. Of course the cab-less unit feels a lot more...

    B2789 snowblower problem

I was looking at buying one of these blowers recently to put behind my recently-acquired B7200. Now that I see how the PTO shaft connects I'm very glad I didn't make this purchase. The Meteor blower I purchased uses the same spline on its input as the tractor's PTO output shaft. This makes it...
