I have the Land Pride 1860. I'm trying to get the stump jumper off and don't know the size of the castle nut. The Kubota dealer mechanic didn't know. All he said was he just find something that fits. So my question is.... Is the nut standard or metric and what size socket do it need, and is it a righty tighty, lefty loosy or CCW

Land pride parts manual shows the thread as 24m x2, typical socket size for a nut of this size is 36mm, thread appears normal, righty tightly. Recommended torque for this nut is 450 Ft lb.

I’ve worked on a number of older rotary cutters, had some interesting experiences! The nut is always the easy part, a lot of the gearbox output shafts are taper splines, sometimes it’s a sharp tap with a large bar / hammer, other times it requires heat.

Good luck with your task.

I don't remember the Castle Nut size, but it took heat to get the nut off of my Bushhog. Oh yes, heat and an electric impact wrench.
