The PRICE of super UDT2 - are you kidding?

I just got back from my Kubota dealer. The lowdown is to stay away from ones like Farm and Fleet branded fluids unless specifically for these HST. The plain label stuff, Don't use. The JD HST label is OK for UDT replacement, but NOT for UDT2 replacement, and they did confirm that Mystic JT5 is...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Oh, my 3rd Function/Quick Attach Remote finally came in, all 149 pounds of it and is sitting in front of my tool box for when I get the time to tear into it. I have a new to me 2019 F-450 to first do paint correction and PPF with Ceramic. Also have to remove and repaint the front bumper so it...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I tedded before raking and the grass was light and fluffy. The NH273 just ate it up and spit it out at 2 MPH. I got a feel for when the shear pin will snap and when I feel it start hitting hard I slow way down to less than a crawl so it ingests the grass. The bales are about average in size...

    fuel costs..

take away the taxes and diesel is same or less than gas. In the states there are federal, state and local taxes on top of the taxes for gasoline. Good example is between the state line of IL and WI, about a .50 per gallon difference. With my TSD card I get Diesel for $4.47 a gallon. When...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Put my L4060 HSTC to work this past week. In addition to my 4 acres, I got another 4 acres of established hay, and wow what a yield. nearly 200 bales from those 4 acres where I am lucky to get 70, if that from mine. Have a way to go. I ran out of light before I got the bales off the ground...

    Just popped a code

I found a Kubota Troubleshooting guide, and looks like that code is for a stuck EGR actuator valve. A key cycle clears it. So far got several hours on baling hay today afterwards with no more codes.. I did it's first regen at 56 hours the other day, maybe related or not, but seems to have...

    What filter is this?

OK, that makes sense then. Now other issue to deal with, just popped a code 7 hours after doing the maintenance. EGR system. Great and I have fields to get baled before noon tomorrow to avoid the rains.

    Just popped a code

While raking the fields I was just about to head over to my other field, looked down and had the engine light on and code P2413. Apparently it is the EGR system. Has anyone had to deal with this before? It on an L4060 HSTC.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Discovered that if you take the loader off the L4060 and it is uneven, it does NOT go back on! Trying to get it on it pushed forward making it even MORE uneven. I finally had to go get the B2410 out and lift and drag it onto even ground and THEN was able to get it hooked up. Eventful day...

    What filter is this?

Thats what I thought but the fuel lines coming from the separator didn't seem to line up, and one line appeared to run to a cooler in front of the radiator which made me think it was another hydraulic filter. I took the manuals out and put them, somewhere, the other day to check what needed to...

    What filter is this?

L4060, I thought I bought all the filters for it except the fuel bowl filter. What is the filter that is above the oil filter? It looks like a hydraulic filter, but find no mention of it in the 50 hour service.

    Kubota Super utd fluid alternative

Gotcha. Took 2 gallons to fill it up, in a pinch UDT works, but once I can get a couple pails of UDT2 from the local dealer, I will drain and refill it. It will get me through the next batch of hay though and thats what matters, at least not dead in the water. The supply chain woes suck...

    Kubota Super utd fluid alternative

Not too expensive, UNAVAILABLE! There is a difference! If a couple gallons of a very close fluid gets the tractor out of the shop until the correct stuff is available, then it isn't being cheap, its getting the job done. My B2410 has been using nothing but JD spec'd hydraulic fluid for 20...

    Kubota Super utd fluid alternative

They have a way to prevent drain down on the fuel filter, why not the same thing on this massive filter that gushes out 2 gallons a minute?

    Kubota Super utd fluid alternative

Thanks to this it saved my day. Kubota near me is sold out of UDT2, and all I had were 2 quarts on hand, figuring that would be enough to fill the filters and keep it at the line on the stick until the fluid got back on the shelf. I did NOT expect to have 2 gallons gush out when I removed the...

Frustration with waiting on new Kubota order

Still waiting on the Hydraulic kit for the 3rd function and remote QA. According to Kubota, "maybe" by the end of the year. Not even Kubota knows when they will be available. Market prices are starting to cool down in the used truck market. I am seeing some rather large drops in advertised...

    Cost of off-road diesel

I filled up Sunday with the TSD card. $4.44 a gallon. Pump price $5.15. Looks like getting an OpenRoads account can save more than shopping around for Off Road.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

My kids ( actually my daughter, the son stood there watching, the lazy bum) cleared out the area in the barn where I planned to put shelves, so today I put the shelving up and went to see if I could get pallets up and on them. Thats a big I don't think so Tim. I just do not have enough room to...

    Cost of off-road diesel

There are very few truck stops that actually carry reefer fuel, and those that do, have it at a separate pump. I have seen pumps that ask if it is for truck or reefer, in which case it is more than likely the road diesel with the taxes removed, and I believe you need to show proof of it going...

    Roundabouts

ROund abouts are nothing. It's those by the interstates where the lanes switch sides that have me going WTF? How the hell are THOSE supposed to help traffic? They still have stop lights and still sit and wait. Would rather have a roundabout. The only time where I have to be really cautious...
