    Expensive Day

That’s an interesting coincidence. I did read on the net after the fact it was a common failure.

    Expensive Day

That’s a pisser to be sure. Try to make it a little better and it ends up a lot worse. I had a pair of Yamaha Grizzly 80s for the girls. Had both of them idling one day to adjust the carbs. Well the one I wasn’t adjusting at the moment made a metallic noise and stopped dead. It seems Yamaha...

I think I've made my retirement decision....

Funny. I recall the “old” guys in the ‘90s using Quattro Pro to write a spread sheet that did a count down to retirement. Most of them were. Serous about that being the actual count too. I just told the boss annually for the last five years, with my performance appraisal, I’ll be here another 4...

    L3130 lost power steering??

Dang. Too bad it’s more serious than that. Good luck with it.

I think I've made my retirement decision....

OP, you’ve done your time. Pull the plug and enjoy what you’ve worked for. We’re all a cog in a machine and if we die at our desk, they will have us replaced in some capacity easily within a year, month or week. Fait won’t deal us an extra 5 or 10 years of life because we worked 45 instead of...

Craigslist comes through again but mixed feelings about selling a trailer and possible tractor work.

Dang Bluetooth made me back into my trailer…hopefully not. Nice when that stuff works as it should. Frustrating when it doesn’t.

    B7100 HST Restoration

Looking sharp! Is everything up to snuff mechanically? I think your $800 tractor is doing better than the stock market for a return. Must be that sweat equity.

No electronics or Bluetooth to not work. KISS principle. Plus you have a couple tennis balls if a tennis match breaks out.

Am I too OCD or should I flush/clean my SQ480 gearbox?

I’d wonder if there’s anymore damage than you think. Being as it was run at least occasionally for a couple seasons sans gear lube if you didn’t notice it leaking. The previous owner may have done the same, or there at least there’d been gear lube visible on the gear box and deck (maybe it was...

Need combo tail/Turn light for L3560

Seems like a fellow was selling tail light lens a year or so ago on here for Ls. Might have been the older Grand Ls. I’ll see if I can find that for you. Edit, not finding that thread, other than a post where I mentioned it existed about a year ago, so maybe closer two years ago. Seems like the...

    Clutch Failure

Two clutches in 100 hour and the first one lasted 5 hours? If it’s not user error (which I presuming it is not), it just about has to be something’s not right with the clutch. I think the only time I use the clutch on my HST L is when I start it. Oh, and when it’s not moving with the engine...

    B2920 MMM deck height slips

Half full hasn’t been on this site for almost a decade. You might think about making a new post and asking your question.

    Spec’ing a new tractor

Mid sized to large Grand L. Get’s you the optional mid PTO to run the snow blower. I think you’re right about the LX anything being too small. If emissions bother you, a used 30 or 40 series Grand L won’t have the emission exhaust filters. A low hour unit (say under 1000 or 800 hours) that was...

    L3130 lost power steering??

Dang that’s an old thread you revived. In the future go ahead and make your own with and maybe link to the historic one if relevant. Anyhow, try jacking front axle off the ground or lifting it up with the FEL, if you have one. Then, with the engine running, cycle the steering lock to lock a...

Damaged Loader... How best to repair?

That’s sounds plausible. Yeah, 1/2 inch in 4 feet is fouled up. One of the reasons I generally try to spell out the units. Many times not doing so leads to miscommunication due to a simple typo. I was wondering where there was something 24 feet long on that little loader.

M5N-091.... someone screwed up and it wasn't me.

I think you’re on the right track. I suspect the mower shows up at the dealer “some assembly required” and the kid that tossed it together couldn’t find the drain plug and did you this little favor to get it out the door. If it’s under warranty, I’d definitely let the dealer fix this assembly...

Damaged Loader... How best to repair?

Is that 1/4 inch in 4 feet? Or 1/4 inch in 24 ft? If the latter, does the laser show the other side to be perfect and is the laser level truly accurate to one part in 1152 (0.05 degrees)?

BOHICA!!!!!!! Do you know what you win, when you play stupid games?

Thanks for sharing. You do tell the most entertaining tractor stories I’ve read. It’s too bad they usually start with something breaking and costing you more than it should in parts and labor. But hey, hide is the cheapest thing on the ranch, right? You always do seem to persevere and sort it...

Craigslist comes through again but mixed feelings about selling a trailer and possible tractor work.

You sure there’s no method to your madness? Seems like you’re a good deal magnet. That’s about $0.80/lb. Can’t hardly by chicken feed for that price anymore (well maybe you can, but not hamburger, remember a buck a pound?). Keep up the good work.
