What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Lynnmor, what an awesome installation! It appears the lights are highly adjustable, as to whether all or some shine forward or reverse. Wonderful. And I LOVE that the lights are under the top of the ROPS. That's vital to me for clearance. I do have two small LED lights lower on the outside of my...

Adding mirrors so I don't have to turn in my seat!

The DIY My Way channel on YouTube just uploaded a video on adding magnetically attached mirrors to his Kubota. He bought a kit, which he links to, from extrememetalproducts.com. He paid a lot more than I did for mine but it may be worth it to some for the convenience.

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

    I believe it's 10w30 in my manual.

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

Amsoil sells 0w20 and 0w40 though, maybe others.

    ROPS too tall

if it's a matter of hitting the raised door, and not the lintel above it, you might be able to adjust the door to give you enough clearance. I say this because I've got a standard height door on my garage and have accidentally discovered that my B2601 will squeak inside, barely contacting...

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

I have used Mobil 1 for at least three decades in my cars and in 3 previous tractors. My impression from recent tests is that a couple other oils beat it for peak performance. Ralph, if Amsoil is not really synthetic, how does it do this? I still use Mobil 1—in my vehicles. Not in my baby. My...

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

My Kubota manual gives the impression of strictly limited viscosities. Did some deep searching on Kubota's web site and those are recommendations, far from requirements. I posted elsewhere about it on this site, with a link. I switched my new Kubota to 5w40 synthetic at 30 hours.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yeah, I almost did that, Rusty. But it was easy to dump a gallon of water in the hole after the bag! Not really "mixing" concrete as I implied. I figure this warm spell isn't going to last long and want the posts set so I can keep moving. By the way, we had a drought this year so the soil is...

Adding mirrors so I don't have to turn in my seat!

I was showing a friend who has done some cool mods to his BX my modest efforts, and I complained that my mirrors moved too easily. He pointed out there's a nut at the bottom of the mirror arm that you must tighten. Duh! Probably common knowledge or in the instructions I got. Anyway these...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

The grandkids are bummed because it was pretty obvious on this warm, sunny Christmas eve that we are NOT going to have a white Christmas like last year. But I wasn't going to waste a 60-degree day! So I chipped away at the new vineyard/garden area. Two days ago, my daughter and son in law had...

    Lube shuttle

LOVE my plain manual Lube Shuttle. Especially now with a LocknLube tip! Too expensive for gun and refill grease, but okay since I have only one tractor. I do not miss my old grease guns, which were my father's.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks, ctfjr. Yep, the end and brace posts are monsters, fully 7"+ at the butt ends! May be over kill but I hope to avoid having to redo this.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I don't have a rototiller, backhoe, or an auger, so I have been hiring a fellow with a BX 23 and those attachments. Found him on Craig's list. He's a fine young man and a real bargain. $75/hour for tractor work plus $75 travel time. Today's project of digging holes for two grape trellises I am...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

On Thursday, I hauled fence posts and unloaded them with my B2601 forks. They are for trellises I am building for grapes. On Friday, I hauled topsoil and mulch into my barn with my front loader for the bases of chicken breeding pens. To come: today's big project of having a guy with a BX TLB use...

Looking for new tractor for 80th

I was showing a guy my wheel spacers today and they look more like 2" to me than 3"! Not sure how to measure, though. Anyway, whatever I got works in making the tractor more stable, and you can see the rear wheels stick out a bit more.

3" each side. The 6" extra width feels significant in terms of stability.

    Trading Down Questions

Amen. Would not have understood so readily before my current tractor. Great machine. No problems. But I had to deal with three setup issues. Minor now, I see. Spiked blood pressure at the time.
