Lube shuttle

Saw a video where they mentioned and showed a lube shuttle: essentially a hand grease gun with a special cartridge without problems of conventional cartridges.

Thinking about buying one for a Christmas present. They're about the same price as an air operated one, cheaper than a battery one.

Both the air operated and battery ones use the same grease cartridges as hand shoot ones. These are difficult to remove the old cartridge from and often leak grease around the piston, wasting a lot of grease.

What's your experience in using the Lube Shuttle?

I purchased one of these about a year ago and I have been pleased with the improvement. It does a good job reducing the mess.

Do you have a plethora of battery power tools today? Dewalt, Milwaukee? If so I recommend you consider their battery powered grease gun first and save on having yet another charger/battery brand in the shop.

I have Milwaukee…it works great and I probably have more grease fittings than you Sir! That with alocknlube is awesome. I also have the 90 degree adapter for hard to reach spots on the machines.

Much easier to use that my old DeWalt battery operated one. I no longer wear more grease than what is in the tube when making the change.

Their battery powered one is high: $475.

I'll probably go with the kit and manual squirt gun for $130.

LockNload fit could be used on theirs if theirs isn't a knock off. So will my adaptors, like yours.

Well, I ordered one. Won't get for Christmas. Supposed to be 28 December.

Got a couple LockNload or lookalikes. Can screw one of them on if I don't like theirs.

No more pulling back plungers that don't stay in place nor bleeding air, etc.

Considering getting some of their empty cartridges to put grease from some unused cartridges into. Can get 10 for $15 on the Air-Tec web site. Coulda saved $10 off Amazon price on their site for the kit I ordered.

A lot of the youtube guys are pushing Lube Shuttle. I have a DeWalt cordless for my mower/spindle grease and a level LockNLube for the moly grease I use on the loader/backhoe. I decided to give the Lube Shuttle a try this spring for the loader/backhoe work and I've been happy with it. It works as advertised and doesn't make as much mess reloading, but it's not a life changing difference; greasing is still a messy job. The only downside I see is the grease selection and availability. You're mostly limited to their greases online. I only found one or two other greases that uses these threaded tubes, but that may be changing. You're not going down to Tractor Supply or AutoZone if you run out.

LockNLube actually sells Paragon 3000 in these style cartridges. They have an adapter that lets you convert one of their pro guns to use it, as well as a newer gun that uses it.

LOVE my plain manual Lube Shuttle. Especially now with a LocknLube tip! Too expensive for gun and refill grease, but okay since I have only one tractor. I do not miss my old grease guns, which were my father's.

My battery powered grease gun (DeWalt) actually almost makes greasing fun!
