Hook/spanner wrench for XG850 shock adjustment?

never found a spanner that actually worked, nor fit in the required space for the 850's. I always just removed the weight from the shocks (wheels off the ground) and then used a large groove-joint plier.

Zero Turn won't reach full RPM and randomly accelerates to normal RPM

The reason I didnt mention governor or it's adjustment is that Kohler is not known for governor problems. Briggs is, but not Kohler. Kohler is usually coils and/or head gaskets. Thus when I hear someone complain about "lack of power", I usually think of coil(s) first and then head gaskets...

Zero Turn won't reach full RPM and randomly accelerates to normal RPM

replace the spark plugs lately? If not, try it. Kinda sounds like one is partially fouled. Kohler? If the plugs are new (not cleaned...replace them), compression is good, valve clearance is correct, could possibly be a coil failing. Wouldn't surprise me, not with it being a Kohler.

Learning to sharpen HSS lathe bits......A lesson in futility.....

I use, and have used, HSS on almost everything (particularly when turning aluminum and magnesium). It's cheap, and I can grind it to whatever shape I want, depending on the desired surface finish. Grinding it is easy, once you know what angles (and radii) to use. My machine is an older...

    Injector 4

as WT said, you have to program the injectors to the ecu. It's required, not just suggested. Gone are the days of just tossing any random injector into the engine. and if you swap them from one cylinder to another, you have to program each injector to that 'new' cylinder as well. to answer...

    Kubota L3000F

Going off of memory, seems like I have had to replace the lever inside the transmission to fix this.

don't overthink it. Put bushings in, put it back to work.

    2018 XG850 what spark plugs

Generally if the plug number (MR7J) begins with an M, it's an OEM only plug-not available to aftermarket. At least not right away. Polaris is the same way, MR7F and MR9F. $20 a piece. People often get hurt about the price and will tell us "don't put plugs in it"-and later on the plug fails...

    Fuel pressure off lift pump?

2-6 psi is what I have seen yes, restriction in the tank nipple or in the separator will absolutely cause low pressure and flow

    Kubota l4400 start and die

at 90 deg air temp glow plugs should not be needed. Certainly not needed to keep the engine running UNLESS the engine has low compression, then the additional heat from the glow plugs can often band-aid the lack of heat in the cylinder due to low compression going off of memory......there may...

    z726xkw-60 engine mounting bolt

yes just 3/8-16 on them, and most of the ones I've seen are like an odd-shaped (not completely round) thread flange head bolts, similar to what's used on exhaust manfiolds, which are really the best option for a lawn mower application that sees a lot of vibration. install them dry. No loctite...

    Connecting rod bearing?

i find it hard to believe that the engine ran without bearings in the rod. It would have rattled so bad that nobody in their right mind would even bother trying to buy it, or continue running it. And, the crankshaft would be all chewed up in about 1 minute, and it would have low compression...

    Smart puter guys !

my mom had this issue, or similar-but worse actually I went into the router and looked at all of the users, there were like 60. Mom has one computer and one phone that both run off of wifi. That's all. Those two were easy to find, the other 58 were the neighbors. Found out, that even...

G1700 G1800 G1900 Battery cable and fusable link position

generally if a fusible link fails, you have to cut it out and replace (butt connectors or soldering, your choice). If you have to go through all that work, just put a fuse holder in it's place. Then you can put a fuse in it when or if it fails again rather than spending an hour fiddling with a...

    piston hitting bottom of head?

"Octane" is an additive, which is added to gasoline. In short, it "stabilizes" the fuel, such that it doesn't explode during combustion. That's the very short explanation. When the octane rating in gas is too low for the engine, the fuel explodes in the cylinder which does a lot of things...

    Coon Problem

that works-I've done it. Then relocate the coons. I don't care to just shoot them because around here the carcass attracts coyotes and especially buzzards. Buzzards will destroy car paint in short order. had 5 coons on the front porch the other night, one of them on it's hind legs in the...

    Mower blades

I've seen them like that on mowers that had 20 hours on them (sandy soil and cutting a lot of leaves). No lie, customer says "don't sharpen them, just flip them over". So we did. Back at 50 hours needing blades. There was literally very little left. Original blades are 18" long, these were...

    piston hitting bottom of head?

or excessive carbon buildup on the piston's crown ain't much clearance between the head and the piston normally, and this is exactly why starting fluid (and other "starting aids") often kills these engines.
