I checked on crank and everything.its no where to be found.im thinking someone worked on it before and forgot to put bearing back in.probably why piston was hitting head a little.the crank journals look good tho.

If no bearing ( no bearing in that cap and rod)you have some big problems if it ran. Yikes cant imagine how bad the crank is…. Thats now a complete rebuild out if tractor. Cap looks like bearing spun…

Try holding the cap back on the journal and see how much gap you have. With no bearing it should be almost a 1/4 inch. If only a bit, then the bearings are bonded to the crank.

It this point it really wont matter. Motor has to come out or box it up and send it down the road. Its toast.. no fixing it in Tractor. Well maybe a patch job to run a 1/2 hour even thats doubtful

That's just it.the journals have no grooves or anything.they look good.

Sorry wishful thinking. If it ran 1 min its done if no bearings. I saw this all the time with customers thinking it would be a cheap fix when a rod or main spun…. It aint its a complete rebuild. Unless the rod fairy came in the middle of the night and removed bearings. The rod cap clearly shows evidence of rod bearing tangs at one time and looks like it spun. No crosshatch marks on rod and cap were it was sized.
But i wish you the best. Get some professional help to look it over. Even if it costs you 100 bucks. Be money will spent and better than listening to somebody on the internet you have never meet .🤣 👍👍

i find it hard to believe that the engine ran without bearings in the rod. It would have rattled so bad that nobody in their right mind would even bother trying to buy it, or continue running it. And, the crankshaft would be all chewed up in about 1 minute, and it would have low compression (piston won't go all the way to tdc without a rod bearing)

my guess is that the bearing is stuck on the journal. I've done this and it's not always obvious. That or they fell out while removing. Can you get a picture of the crank journal?

Get out your micrometers and measure the crankpin diameter and the big end of the rod's inner size.

Are you sure you didn’t drop them down in the sump…? …or they’re stuck on the crank..?
There’s no way they were operated without bearings with no heavier damage evident.
