What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Didn’t use the Kubota but we fought an 8” water main break all day today. Couldn’t isolate the line to shut it down for repair. Ended up widening shutoff area and of course when we did, starved 1 of our towers. YIKES! Bringing in the wheeled Volvo and hydro excavation truck to get it fixed. 4th one this week!

This makes me want a cab even more, last night when I was snowblowing, I couldn't see anything as the spray from the blower was getting picked up by the wind and I ended up munching two of my driveway markers (luckily I didn't cause any harm to the blower)...

I was out pushing snow around today , wind blowing, temp was 17*
I added a cab and heater last fall and I'm loving it !!!!

It was a balmy -4 here this morning…so the block heater got plugged in…after about 1.5 hrs, had one bar on the dash when she fired right up. Did not see more than two bars in the 3 hrs I was out…and when just idling only one bar on the dash/thermostat.

Moved some wood onto the porch and relocated some of the wood slabs I had milled last year.

I like seeing the inspector/ supervisor on the porch helping!

Haha…yeah she is really helps…the little one is worse…if they gave out medals for detaching wood and scattering it around the yard and driveway, he would be a multi gold medal champ! I think one of his special skills is taking dry wood off the porch to leave in the rain.

I'm just trying to figure out why your R14's look so much smaller than mine. I've got the LX2610SU with oversize tires, but didn't realize they were that much larger. The back of my little SU looks like Kim Kardashian's behind with the big feet. Dealer included the ballast in the purchase when I bought mine. I don't regret getting the big tires or the ballast. I think you'll notice a lot more traction as well as stability by loading the tires. What model is your box blade? That looks like the BB1260. Silly me wasn't paying attention when I got mine, and I wound up with the BB1248 as one of two included implements when I bought my LX. It's about a foot too narrow, especially with the big feet. So, keeping my eyes open for a bigger BB. They're all but useless if they're not wider than the tractor track.

Might wanna plan some tire fluid samples into your regular maintenance program to make sure that stuff isn't corroding the rims from the inside. Just roll 'em enough to stir up anything that might be rusting/corroding, then pull a quick sample (pretty much the same plumbing you used to put it IN the tire, but do it with the stem down). It shouldn't corrode according to the product claims, but "shouldn't" with my luck normally means it certainly will. After all, the reservoir on the car is plastic, and the pump is plastic, etc, etc. There's your sign.

I have plenty of warm clothes. Also, cabs are special orders around here and would have delayed delivery by 3-4month. May eventually get one anyway, but I e been clearing snow with a 1st gen 2025r and a loader bucket for about 5yrs and really don't mind the open platform. Just got to keep the chute pointed down wind.

Will be cutting some links on my tire chains this afternoon to get them to fit properly. No snow this week, so my driveway is finally fully plowed. Hoping to haul about 20yds of snow to our property later this week to keep the piles manageable in the driveway.

Again, welcome. The forecast has us getting over 2in of rain next week, more the merrier anything to get us out of the drought.

Also, you can always add a cab later. I understand the AK shopping, what you want, and what you can get, and even if it's close, you still walk happy because you still got something that is mighty useful.

That's quite the setup for installing liquid into tires. I used a 15 gal sprayer with pump for chemicals. turn the bottles upside down and they set right in the opening. Remove valve core and put hose over valve stem.

Didn’t do a lot on the Kubota today. Did the annual mowing of the back of the dam this afternoon, but that was with the Stihl FS-70 sporting a blade. Did the front side about a week ago. Noticed the whole surface of the pond was frozen. We’ve had ice patches intermittently every year but it has been several years since the whole surface froze. No clue why it’s all lumpy and rough. It’s usually smooth when it freezes.

Anyway… Did get the L out to deal with the remains of this Virginia pine that fell between the houses and shed. Limbs were already long gone. Tractor is about the middle of this long spindly thing. Whacked it into 3 pieces and dumped it on the scrap log pile as it’s way too rotten to do anything else with it.

Then hooked up the rotary cutter to do a little more annual mowing type stuff tomorrow. Ground is very wet from recent rains but was frozen hard until about 1:30. Top was getting pretty muddy in the sunny areas so mowing can wait until morning when the ground is frozen again.

I feel lucky, when I bought my L3901DT the dealer loaded the tires with washer fluid for me as part of the price. I had asked him how much to do it and he told me they do it on all the compact tractors they sell.

I could have done without the valve in the feed side, but there's only about $25 in PVC parts there. Can't remember what the valve adapter cost, but it wasn't that spendy. Took less than 30min per tire once I figured all the plumbing out.

I did also purchase a Milwaukee transfer pump but I never count tools into the cost because I'll find many more uses for it down the road.

Finished fitting the tire chains this afternoon. No need for rubber snubbers anymore.

Woke up to 8" or more of fresh snow on the ground this morning and spent 45 minutes redistributing it. I really enjoy this sort of work. I had to make way more passes on the lower driveway than normal as I attempted to push the snow over the edge to make room for future plowing events.

A friend who bought my 2016 BX25D from me in 2021 sent me this photo of the little beast this evening and told me that it's been working hard removing snow this past week. He sold me that little tractor, and I joke with him that he knew I'd want to upgrade at some point and that he'd end up with it. It's great to see it go to such a good home, and it's living a much better life with him.

Often wondered about using a blade on a weed eater. Seems like there would be a lot of kickback.

There can be, but I found using the blade is the fastest way to clear underbrush beneath my oak trees. With a new blade I can easily cut 3". I now have a walk behind trimmer, with a blade, I'll have to post pics later, didn't see them in this thread.
