What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Cleared our driveway and a couple of the neighbors driveways.
Cleared our road, county was busy with the main roads, and a couple of the hills in the
neighborhood.

A small group of elk camped out around the house in the early hours of this morning, but once my Heeler went out to pee they figured it was time to move on. I left them alone and waited to blow and push snow until they were up among the trees.

I've said this many times, but I have nothing but good things to say about the MX6000, STB1596 (hydraulic angle snow blade) and SB1574 (snow blower) for my needs. It's a joy to use and it does such a good job of moving snow. I've yet to shear a pin on the blower (3rd winter) but I would regularly shear pins on the BX5450. That SB1574 will throw tennis ball sized rocks without issue!

I'm still running the blower at 2,200 rpm, pushing at 2,000 rpm and climbing back up the lower driveway at 2,400 rpm. No regens (infrequent at least), reduced fuel consumption and reduced noise.

Time to add some fuel, grease the loader and add a splash of engine oil.

My little wirehair Rudy, last night on the last trip thru the edge of the woods at 9pm got about 5 whitetails out of their beds. He thinks he is a force to be reconciled with all his 40 lbs. He loves the snow though! I have collars on mine and just use the vibrate if they get out of hand but he stops now with a yell. Never go out without them on after a skunk match a few years ago.

I have close to 400 yards of driveway and parking areas and it takes about 30 minutes. I was cleaning up some piles of snow this morning that my neighbor's snow removal contractor created, so I was outside for about 40 minutes. Took much longer to add 10 gallons of fuel, add some engine oil, grease the loader, grease the snow blade, blow out the cab, blow out the air filter, and blow out the screens in front of the radiators.

That's an adorable pup you have there. Mine likes the snow too and has a habit of rolling and sliding around in the stuff.

Received approx 14 inches of snow the last two days. 300 yards of driveway down to the road to clear plus large area in front of house and outbuildings.
The pull type blower and snowpusher makes easy work of it. Hardest part is picking the radio station to listen to. Snowing again today but not suppose to amount to much. So nice to get out of the house without dressing like the michelin tire man. That minus 40 last week not including the wind chill was brutal!

-3 Celcius and nice temperatures forecasted for the next 14 days.

Thanks for the compliment on Rudy. His older sister Libby, a border collie mix, gets tormented by him running around her spinning and sliding in the snow but they get along well.
I was thinking you must have to spend quite a bit more than that plowing. I spend more than that with 100 yards plus parking but a lot of back and forth in that.

Did something "for" the Kubota. Its cold out so we did an inside project in the unheated shop. Used some scrap wood to frame up a dolly for the grapple. Then went dumpster diving at the local big box hardware store for good pallet wood to add structure. Bolted on some of the finest chinesium wheels to it and done. It's a long term temporary measure until we get a tractor barn built.

@Moose7060, what gear and rpm do you run when blowing or pushing snow? I have an M6060 but don't use it for snow at the moment but I like redundancy and a snow pusher could be in my future.

MCMXI, When blowing I'm running in 3rd or 4th gear and the RPM's are about 2150 in order to get 520-535 PTO RPM's. Haven't used both at the same time except at the end of the driveway where I'll lower the pusher to clear accross the road into the far ditch. When using the pusher solo, run it the same as your loader, just don't have to lift and dump as the snow doesn't pack into it as it is designed differently than a bucket.

Thanks. HLA has a great reputation and one of those 2500 snow pushers could come in handy on another section of driveway that I've been working on. I could run the HERD seeder/sander on the back of the M6060 with a snow pusher up front. What width is your HLA?

I went with the 84" with the back drag option, but probably could have gone with the 96" but wanted the blower and pusher to be close to the same width for the parking spot I back into.

Did a little firewood yesterday. First day that is was warm enough to be outside for any length of time.

These two logs are from a tree that had its top blown off in a wind storm. There is a little usable wood in them.

Not much Kubota activity other than plowing some PITA snows the last couple of weekends...

Loaded up today for a small sewer line repair scheduled tomorrow. Surprisingly, my stone pile wasn't frozen solid. I thought for sure it would be damn near impossible. Tractor didn't have an issue getting into the pile.

Haven't dug anything in almost 3 weeks. I hate winter.
