It's got to be an uncomfortable time for all the folks who make purchases because of an interest free loan. There's been many a thread over the past few years explaining how beneficial it is to use other people's money and invest and make money on what would have paid for the item completely.

All those discussions are beyond repair, because perhaps now that money was invested and not withdrawn JUST before the SHTF.

There's been discussion about the drug developed for Malaria, hydroxychloroquine being used with zinc to help destroy the corona virus. Someone, somewhere must see some positive results in it.

My wife found a six pack of TP for her mom & one for us today, first time since the panic buying started, at a neighborhood WM.

Question: Are people panic buying guns & ammo around the country like they are here? Long lines, virtually no ammo, & few guns left in shops. Crazy.

With the Current virus situation and lots of people out of work because of it do you think Kubota is going to help out the people loosing their jobs by letting payments slide for a bit until the country gets back on its feet. Or will there be a mass of repossessed tractors and equipment?

Havent paid my kubota payment yet, but I know Ford Credit, Mazda credit, my mortgage company and the bank my wifes car is financed through have all had messages about calling if you need assistance. They all know this whole situation is going to hurt a lot of people. What are they going to do with a bunch of repossessed vehicles, houses, equipment, etc if they can’t get rid of it? If anybody is in that situation then call the lending company, most likely they will work with you even more in this time.

I have read some posts that are negative and rude!

I don't want anyone coming on here and telling anyone that they have done wrong or they are a bad person because they are having difficulties paying their bills or payments for anything!

If you don't have something positive or helpful to write, keep it to yourself.
There are going to be a lot of people hurt, scared, confused, and lost buy all of this!

This is a family, we should be here to help, and support and no be hurtful and demeaning!

Anyone not doing this will be asked to leave permanently!

Same here, lots of deals right now on firearms, however they are all sold out, RK is a fine example. Lots of folks that thought guns were bad, now suddenly think they should have one, and I think that is wonderful! Only thing if you know someone like that please help them get some training or you help train them.

Most likely I'll give my renters a break on the rent. They will have to pay me but I'll defer it if they are unemployed which isn't yet but probably coming as they all work in automotive related industries.

No point in leaving the houses empty and I won't put anyone on the street either.

I can cover the payments myself. Will be tough but I can swing it.

Right now, at least here, TP and paper towels is more important than firearms. Have plenty of guns, way too much ammunition, plenty of reloading supplies too, but low on TP and were low on paper towels but my wife found a case of paper towels on Amazon.

So she ordered the case, 13 bucks with free shipping. Meanwhile, we ran out so I brought in a roll of disposable shop towels from the shop. They work pretty well but are blue, not white....

So the case of towels show up. Scott Paper towels sure enough, 24 rolls but all the printing on the wrappers is in French. Only thing I can read is the name Scott, and Kimberly-Clark....

Came from Florida of all places.

Most of the big lending companies will allow you to defer a payment or 3 if you run into a pit fall and can't make the payments. Even before this mess. Usually when you call them, you make the interest payment and they roll the actual payment to the end of the term.

It's much cheaper and easier for them to roll the payment then it is to repo and auction off someone's trashed out POS.

If you don't have enough in your bank account to keep you for 2-3 months, then shame on you. Every 'money manager' I've ever dealet with in the past 5 decades suggest 3-4 months MINIMUM in the savings account to pay regular bills(mortgage,insurance, car, food, utilites, etc.). A business should have 4-6 months in 'reserves'.

Some lenders(banks, mortgage companies, lessees) MAY allow you to DEFER a payment or two, but you'll still OWE the money,perhaps with a small interest fee.There's no way VISA or MC will forgive the 20-30% fees though..

Just a brief history lesson at the link below. The interesting part to me is how many people don't realize that we following a similar path of containment that was used in 1918. You would think that in a 100 years we would of come up with a better approach, but we haven't. Just find it interesting how the old things are now new again.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone, but rather the old adage of 'saving for a rainy day', the motto 'be prepared' comes to mind .... as a 'baby boomer' I was taught to save before buying,to plan ahead and not spend more than I make.
From what I've seen,heard and read , many ,if not most, of the current generations feel they deserve 'free cheese' and not be held accountable for their decisions on purchases. Paying $1,000 for the latest smartphone and NOT having food in a freezer is wrong. Putting $4k of tires/rims on credit for your ride while your kid goes hungry is wrong. Thinking that a money lender will forgive a portion of your debt to them while you're out of work for a month is wrong.
Money lenders are in business ,and if they forgave or extended or defer, a lot of loans, then THEY will have to 'reduce overheads' to pay their bills. Usually the biggest 'overhead' is payroll, so their employees get let go...In the business, they have 'reserves', a bank account full of money, to be used for emergencies aka 'rainy days'. It's how they weather the storms...so to should 'regular folks'

Although I agree with some of what you say I don't agree with how you expressed your thoughts. For some folks especially those just starting out with families it's just not possible. Before this goes any further this thread is not about how other people handle their finances. You expressed your thought and I mine and that's as far as I will go with it.

I am a huge self reliance fan.

The problem with this issue now, is never before has the government told you you can't go out and work. The government is removing a lot of peoples ability to be self reliant.

That makes this situation unique and it will require some unique solutions.

I honestly couldn't answer your question. Grams taught me that recipe when I was 6 years old. Always made homemade pancakes that way. I will say that everyone in the family raves about them. And my grandkids refuse to eat pancakes at home if it's not "Poppa's" recipe [emoji14]

If your cooking sausage or bacon to go with them then hold off mixing the pancake batter till your ready to cook the pancakes. This way they come out light and fluffy. Letting the batter sit to long before using will cause the baking powder to fizzle out.
