    M9000 electrical question

Interesting. Always amazes me how engineers love to complicate things. What ever happened to the simple "power to the coil, engine runs - power is removed, engine stops". I guess that's just TOO simple. Thanks, I will look at that possibility when I get back out there.

    M9000 electrical question

I'm working on this M9000 cab tractor today, getting a front final drive apart to replace the seals. I'm about done with taking it apart, and I'm getting ready to leave when the guy asks me about this... When he turns the key on past "on" and onto the glow plug position the fuel shutoff...

    B7800 starting issue, electrical

My guess - if you're getting smoke, you're getting fuel, so it's probably not the gizmo. I'm betting you're not getting power to the glow plugs.

    L 5240 engine parts

I put together a mock up and took some photos yesterday. I can e mail them to you if you want to PM an e mail address.

    L 5240 engine parts

I can do that. At least I think I can. Computer tricks are not my strong suit. I can take some photos, load them into an Email and send them that way I think. Maybe I can get that done tomorrow.

    L 5240 engine parts

I installed a new engine in a 5240 a few months back. The engine removed had been run low on oil and had spun one rod bearing. It could have been saved, but the choice was made to replace it. There are still a number of usable parts that are all going to be scrapped soon. The block has been...

    Loader soft ride feature

Thanks. It really is pretty simple. The parts list doesn't show much because there just isn't much to show.

    Loader soft ride feature

Something totally new to me. I was asked yesterday to look at an oil leak on a loader tractor. It's an M126GX with an LA2254 loader. Loader has a soft ride feature. This is evidently a system of accumulators which help cushion shock when the loader is operated? It has a control on the right side...

Possible timing issue with D902 engine swap in an RTV900

So does the engine not run at all, or it runs but runs poorly?

    L5240 needs an engine

I can understand the "seek and destroy" mentality of those who get to make the rules these days. They can't allow one to purchase an engine such as this that might end up in a NEWER tractor thus eliminating any of their precious emissions requirements. I have heard nothing yet concerning any...

    L5240 needs an engine

The engine came through the local Kubota dealership. I'm not sure exactly where it was shipped from, but it was in country. The price I was quoted from the dealer parts counter at the beginning of all this $7300 plus. I don't remember exactly. There were two figures quoted, both within $50 of...

    L5240 needs an engine

Just a quick update here. A new engine was ordered, received, and installed. Problem solved. I finally had time today to dig into the bad motor. It had indeed spun one rod bearing but that truly seems to be the only real damage sustained. (Other than the hole I had to drill through the block)...

    L5240 Air conditioning

Great! That's what I was looking for. Thank you much. How do you find that stuff?

    L5240 Air conditioning

Yes, I have all that. What I don't have is the weight of the charge.

    L5240 Air conditioning

I was here a few weeks back with some questions concerning a course of action for an L5240 with an oil starved engine. The command decision was made. A new engine from Kubota. That unit is now in, up and running. About all that's left to do now is put the hood back on and charge the A/C. No...

    L5240 needs an engine

What's it worth??? I don't really have an answer to that. It's not my tractor. What's the cost of down time to the business while discussing options, making choices, and then waiting for whatever results those choices bring? Again, that's not my call. It's a construction type business, often...

    L5240 needs an engine

Finally got the engine out and on the floor today. Found the sticker on the valve cover tucked under a hose leading to the turbo intake hose. The number reads V2403-M-T-ET04. Local Deere/Kubota dealer quoted seven grand plus for a new engine with one year warranty. Seems like rebuilding it...

    L5240 needs an engine

Thanks. I will look today and see what I find. I didn't see a sticker on the valve cover so I need to look closer around the injection pump.

    L5240 needs an engine

I got into another "sweetheart" of a project yesterday. I agreed to R&R a bad engine. Not sure how badly damaged it is, but we know it has a hole in the pan, and certainly ran a while with little to no oil in it. The owners are looking at options, like having it rebuilt, buying new, a reman...
