2007 6040 seems to run out of fuel, what am I missing?

Emptying and removing that tank is a lot of work. I wouldn't suggest going there until that's determined to be the only solution. That said, tanks mounted down low are a well known source of fuel supply problems. What I would do is this. Find a clean container for fuel, something four or five...

    More A/C questions

Okay, I have a better picture now of what's involved, and something to look for. A lot going on in there, and with all that, you say electrical problems are rare? Thanks guys.

    More A/C questions

I spent a few more hours on this M5 111 today. The basics of the system are working now. The charge is right, pressures are good and blowing cold air from the vents. Problem now is strictly electrical. As in no power getting to the compressor. The control panel in the headliner came out easy...

    A/C charge weight

To be honest, the question is more one of curiosity than anything else. Most tractors I see hold closer to 3 lbs. but they have larger compressors, larger condensers and evaporators. My experience with Kubotas is limited, I admit, but I know owners who claim their tractor systems don't cool as...

    A/C charge weight

Yes, the weight would only apply to an empty system. I was just curious about the differences between models because it seems with most other tractors the charge weight is higher than the Kubotas I've seen. Many are 3 lbs + but the Kubotas seem to be smaller systems.

    A/C charge weight

Question for those of you who do air conditioning work. I'm curious about the freon weight of the various cab tractors. Assuming that spec would be found in the specific WSM for each model, but the few that I have been involved with all seem to be in the range of 2.0 to 2.5, 2.6 lbs. of R134A...

    L4400 WSM

A quick search for this item gives the impression there is only one print version, along with an HST supplement. Does that sound correct?

    Another L4400 no start

As it turns out I will be ordering the manual after all. The owner said he has been thinking of getting one for some time. It seems I need more than "just the basics" on this system. Today's experience proves that. To all of you who enjoy an electrical challenge, ponder this. Not knowing...

    Another L4400 no start

That may be a practical option if I needed that much information, but in this case I'm only looking for some basics involving the start circuit.

    Another L4400 no start

After reading through a few old discussions on this subject it seems there are no free wiring diagrams available on this model? The parts diagrams for the HST version show a number of switches, some of which would be involved in the cranking circuit, but I see no listing for a start relay. Since...

    Power shuttle problems?

Possibly. No loaders involved here though. No history available on M6800 but the M7060 was used primarily as a mowing tractor as I understand it. His other tractors are all dry clutch machines and have survived as well enough. Seems rather strange to me. Also the M6800 clutch has six plates...

    Power shuttle problems?

I've always considered multi-disc wet clutches to be far superior in service life to the conventional dry clutch. Just a few weeks ago I spoke to a man about problems concerning his newly acquired M6800 with drive problems in forward gears. Just this morning I spoke to another man with similar...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

It certainly does. That shows the system pressure to be 355 -370 psi, pretty much as I expected from research so far. The surprise is finding that the valve dumbs that down to 250 or so to the clutches themselves. Seeing that on the gauges would have sent me looking for internal leaks which may...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

You're right, that does confuse me. I do see the point that it's all one circuit diagram in two separate overlapping forms. I also see both tees are on the same circuit. It's the return line from the steering valve. Difference is the one you mentioned is ahead of the oil cooler, the other is...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

I saw that diagram as well, but there is no shuttle valve or PTO valve in it. There is another diagram right next to it that shows both valves and a similar tee in one of the oil cooler lines. This is going by parts page J27501. The pdf I'm studying leads me to believe the relief is IN the PTO...

D950 one cylinder white smoke on start-up

As much as I hate to start another "slingin" storm, it's my opinion that simply "re ringing" a diesel engine is usually NOT a good idea. I know some (possibly many) will disagree, citing all sorts of good results doing just that. In my experience honing or deglazing used liners or cylinder...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

I haven't seen the tractor yet. In the absence of the "proper" manual, what I find so far is this. The shuttle valve is supplied with fluid from a tee placed in the return line from the steering controller to the pto valve. The pto valve has a built in relief valve which also serves as a system...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

I agree completely. Worn plates is the first thought, but until I see it first hand, and check the pressures I can't make that call. This is my first try at the new parts website, it caught me by surprise. I liked what they had before once I got used to it. I hope this really is "new and...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

The shuttle valve on the 7040 is on the side of the clutch housing, not on top. Totally different valve body. Parts list shows the same two plug part numbers on both valves, possibly test ports? Does your manual show these as test ports? If they are what I think they are they will be 1/8" BSP...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

Maybe so, but this is the first of these anyone has called me about, and chances are I may never see another one. I already have enough books on the shelf that I bought for "one time use" projects. If it needs to come apart, that's one thing. Right now I'm just trying to figure out how it works.
