That is an idea I need to try. I have 4 culverts that go under the road. On the outlet side is a flat shelf before it drops off into the woods. The ditch across the flat gets clogged with clay/silt and the only tool I have used is a spade. Hard work for me. Maybe I can make your idea work. Thanks for posting it !!

A lot of people use an old tire on a chain.

Qusstion: How'd they get the rope/cable through the culvert in the first place?
I've used a piece of pvc pipe with a sweeper nozzle on it to water jet/drill through, then wire the chain/cable/rope to the nozzle and pull it back through.

Mowed my brother in laws 4 acres and then cleaned the deck and greased the mower. The lack of rain has slowed growth to a crawl.

Yesterday I snuck a mow in the evening. Then today took the ‘observation towers’ for another drive and we installed and did some trimming with the fork basket. That basket sure is handy. Couple pics of the view from above of canopy (I am loving that too) and stream 🥃

Setting posts for yesterday for an addition to the barn. The BX is waayyyyy better than the strong back and a weak mind method I used 22 years ago!!:)

Finished yesterday evening off taking care of some dunnage from the ‘observation towers’.

This morning back at it in the woods to put the last stand up. There is lots of ‘observing’ to do coming up.

I should not have waited so long to get a work platform. Makes trimming much much easier and safer. 🥃

I've been (slowly) working on putting up my radio tower. Yesterday went up to attach temporary guys. Today used the tractor to pick through the sections to get the one with the guy bracket already mounted on it. That one is going up next. First spray painted over the small surface rust with 'cold galvanize'.

Tractor is still great for pulling the actual pulling up of the sections and gin pole.

Finished up 284 bales of hay, just in time for the hot weather to roll in. I still have 3 fields left to cut, but rain is in the forecast. Discovered a groundhog hole the hard way, by nearly dumping the L4060. I swear all 4 wheels came off the ground.

Time to get the AR out and do some ground hog hunting. After looking around I found there are quite a few that were hidden by the tall grass.

RON-30 tower sections? ANYTHING is better than the old heave-ho method of hoisting 70+ pound sections of tower.

If you were about 1200 miles closer, I'd offer to come over and help. Been a while since I've been on top of 200 feet of tower. Hard to beat that view.

Not only was the tower 200' tall, it was on top of one of the highest ridges in our area. I could probably see for 20 miles up there on a crisp late-spring day. Of course, I was somewhat dehydrated, VERY sunburnt, and completely exhausted from installing the last 100 feet of tower, a 10m quad-yag, and a 2m omni (that nearly killed me because it's owner forgot to unplug it from the ungrounded extension cord before hoisting the antenna to me). But otherwise, it was a very fun day. Hanging around with all my radio buds was ALWAYS a fun day.
