Hooked up the spreader to the MX5100.

PTO shaft was seized and sorta bent, it’s amazing how things come back from being borrowed...
I stopped loaning tools out years ago. Last time was lending a DeWalt tile saw to a buddy that lost one of the splash shields and used an angle grinder to cut through a section of the table while cutting a piece of porcelain dry... Lazy bastard.

Plowed up two rows of red potatoes today with my L2501. The loader bucket and a couple of 50-pound potato bags helped me get everything under cover quickly before the 15 percent chance of rain showed up in the afternoon.

We loaned this to one of the athletic associations so they could top dress their 18 or so soccer fields. They’ve had it about 6 months, I actually forgot about it till it showed up yesterday.

Normally my box blade hangs off the rear of my tractor for the summer so I didn’t fret much over the hassle of hooking it up and taking it off. Since getting the chipper changes will be much more frequent. It’s time to throw together a few carts for my modest implement collection. I “need” 5 to take care of all of ‘em.

I have a huge pile of 2x6 lumber from old barn stalls so combining those with some solid pallets cut and reworked to size should be a breeze.

I’ve been blowing through cash like crazy lately so budget friendly casters ($9 per) are the ticket. I tend to overbuy and overbuild but for this project I really don’t see the need.

Well, I love (almost free) fill dirt. 6 triaxle loads ordered to help fill in some swamp area out at the range. This is the only time of the year that I can drive on it, so after cutting the weeds I decided to add some fill dirt. The goal here was to just raise it enough so I can create an area for burning brush and to make it a bit easier to mow. I'll be able to get at the dead trees as well without burying the Kubota.

here's a few pics of progress thus far...

second area with a little better shale/clay mixed material. It should grow some decent perennial rye grass.

More to come...maybe.

Check specialtyrepaircustoms 😁
That's the one! Silly me, I had the link saved in my favorites, didn't I? And looks like he's added more stuff for the LX Series. Was starting to wonder if the LX was gonna be an orphan.

I finished sawing this customer's logs yesterday and his M6800 did an amazing job handling the logs.

I sawed mostly square stuff from the crooked logs seen above ranging from 2 1/2" to 5".

And Quarter Sawn lumber from the better White & Red Oak logs.
Didn't you give me a link one time that lists local sawyers with travelling road shows like yours? I've got a couple pretty big short leave pines (actually on my neighbor's property but leaning on trees on my property) that need to come down. I'd rather not waste them if I can get some lumber out of them to build a lean-to for my tractor equipment.

It’s got a Kubota gas engine, so it counts!

Just moved the Kubota out of the way to start the annual stowing of the wood pellets. Early start in case there’s a shortage. Will need another ton or two.

RCW, I essentially did the same thing. I confirmed the winter contract price and quantity of propane. ;)

Thanks much. Found a few ‘nearby’ sawyers. Will take a closer look on the PC and make a few calls. Might try Faceplant marketplace too. Few are any closer than you are, so might not be cost effective to get em sawn. Shame, cause both the ones that need to come down immediately are at least 24” at the stump and 60’ tall. I have several others that I should probably cull as well because they’re beetle targets with lightning and wind damage. Just don’t want to put em down and create a bigger problem than I already have. There’s probably enough for all the rough lumber I need for the lean-to and then some.
