What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Took a few large, dead trees down saturday in the friggin heat. At least the ground was dry so I could get the logs/brush out with the tractor and forks. Did some "stumpin" in prep for sunday grinding. Cutting large stumps is getting to be quite a chore.

Today. Not quite as hot and we had some cloud cover. Ground 7 stumps. 6 oaks, 1 ash. Here's just a few pics. Done around 3 pm, then it was cleanup time for the grinder and tractor.

I worked on about 1/4 mile of our private road that we share with 11 others. We had a hard rain last night and it washed one of the hills pretty bad. Also had to work on our driveway a little.

I completed the repair of my underground camera cables in the woods today. Used the stump bucket to move some large rocks over the area so the next time I get the urge to rip the ground with the box blade I will hopefully leave this section alone.
It's true - its a lot less fun doing it the second time. . .

also washed it - its been quite a while and the stone dust from moving the landscape stone mulch was everywhere. Good thing I did, I found a puddle of hydraulic oil under the 3pt. Locking nut on one of the fittings for top link cylinder had backed off, a lot. Not sure how much oil I lost in the woods. . .

Finally greased the fel - less than 10hrs but that's all I have been using the tractor for. It's like an enema, it may not help but it can't hurt.

Yesterday, I used the BX to move some dirt to fill in around my steps landing. Luckily, the rain held off until after I was done.
The path to the left of the landing will be reworked and moved to connect to the landing.

Those are some solid looking steps. You must be really good at cutting stair stringers.

Discovered that if you take the loader off the L4060 and it is uneven, it does NOT go back on! Trying to get it on it pushed forward making it even MORE uneven. I finally had to go get the B2410 out and lift and drag it onto even ground and THEN was able to get it hooked up.

Eventful day yesterday was. First, simple filter change turned into an oil bath, Great for C3PO, bad for me and my garage floor. The dump pan caught majority of it, but the splashes made a mess. The bad part was I had no oil to refill it with, only 2 quarts which was all I thought it would take to replace what wa in the filters, so not expecting to replace 2 gallons!! I had to find the best equivalent to UDT since the dealer was closed and last week was completely out of UDT2 with no date for restock. I found Mystik JT5 to be comparable to UDT so that will work in the interim.

My B2410 has used the John Deere equivalent since I got it, but didn't want to risk it in the L4060, so had to run out and get the mystik.

BX. What is that on the inside of the risers? I tried to blow it up but still cannot see.

Cleaned the deck of the FDR2584 and took the blades off to sharpen. When I was done I cleaned off the pollen and mud off of the tractor.

Since I’m using composite deck boards for my steps, the stringers need to be 10” O.C. The double stringers on the ends are necessary because each step will be picture framed.

They’re steel brackets that allow the steps to be fastened from underneath to eliminate visible fasteners from above. There will still be a few topside fasteners on the ends of the picture frame pieces.

Decided it was time to pick up a new box blade. Dickie Bubs had the King Kutter in both the 5 and 6 foot version with the 6 foot only 20 bucks more than the 5 foot!

Well, me thinking my little B is tough as nails, I picked up the 6 footer, brought it home and hooked it up. Ha! I felt so bad for my little tractor I took the 6 footer back and brought home the 5 footer. She was struggling like crazy in 4wd low gear once the box filled up with dirt and I just didn't want to work her that hard. (-;

Note: First time taking the BH off. Was very easy! Now, putting it back on... I dunno. We'll see...

Out with the old in with the new. I traded out a 2019 BX2380 (142 hours) with 54 inch drive over MMM for a 2022 BX23S with a grapple bucket (ssqa) land pride third function 54 inch normal MMM and a thumb. The BX2380 did most of the ground work you see behind it. If I had bought the BX23S in 2019 I wouldn't of had to replace it. My needs never changed I just adjusted to use the 2380 by renting a mini x when I had enough work backed up to justify the cost at the time. Now I can take my time and finish the jobs.

Enjoy the new tractor. Nice that you found one with a loader. The Kubota dealer by me cant get loaders and says there is a year or more wait for them. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a B, but won't go without a loader for a year or more.

If you're considering a B, look at the LX. It's basically an upgrade of the big B's.

This morning I tried to lift the John Deere F835 plow off the trailer using the MX with pallet forks but it wouldn't lift it. I'm not sure how much this plow weighs but I had to hook up the M with the grapple to get it off the trailer. Admittedly the load is closer to the tractor using the grapple, but still, I was surprised.

I do like the LX, but it may be more tractor than my 5 acres needs. I was more interested in the increased lifting capacity for round bales.
