May want to take out that pine at the 45 degree angle while you are at it. o_O
Thats a black cherry that grew sideways to get some sunlight away from the buckthorn and cedars crowding it out lol. It's a really solid tree surprisingly enough 😂 I may take it down but it looks neat.

That's what I was thinking, it's a cool tree and I've never seen one grow at an angle like that lol.

I finished sawing this customer's logs yesterday and his M6800 did an amazing job handling the logs.
IMG_2957.JPG

I sawed mostly square stuff from the crooked logs seen above ranging from 2 1/2" to 5".

And Quarter Sawn lumber from the better White & Red Oak logs.

Black Cherry has a very poor root system and will do whatever is necessary to survive.

Here is one on my property that is doing just that.....surviving. (y) ;)

I love those wide boards, but I worry they will split and crack to no end. I hope the log was well seasoned before it was sawed.

Those 23" wide boards will all split down the center/pith as they dry but being quarter sawn, they will remain relatively flat. My customer can only plane 15" so it does not matter anyway.

Hooked up the spreader to the MX5100.

PTO shaft was seized and sorta bent, it’s amazing how things come back from being borrowed...

Got my mowing done right before it started raining. :) Nice and cool here this morning didn't really need any AC for a change.

I stopped loaning tools out years ago. Last time was lending a DeWalt tile saw to a buddy that lost one of the splash shields and used an angle grinder to cut through a section of the table while cutting a piece of porcelain dry... Lazy bastard.

Plowed up two rows of red potatoes today with my L2501. The loader bucket and a couple of 50-pound potato bags helped me get everything under cover quickly before the 15 percent chance of rain showed up in the afternoon.

We loaned this to one of the athletic associations so they could top dress their 18 or so soccer fields. They’ve had it about 6 months, I actually forgot about it till it showed up yesterday.

Normally my box blade hangs off the rear of my tractor for the summer so I didn’t fret much over the hassle of hooking it up and taking it off. Since getting the chipper changes will be much more frequent. It’s time to throw together a few carts for my modest implement collection. I “need” 5 to take care of all of ‘em.

I have a huge pile of 2x6 lumber from old barn stalls so combining those with some solid pallets cut and reworked to size should be a breeze.

I’ve been blowing through cash like crazy lately so budget friendly casters ($9 per) are the ticket. I tend to overbuy and overbuild but for this project I really don’t see the need.

Well, I love (almost free) fill dirt. 6 triaxle loads ordered to help fill in some swamp area out at the range. This is the only time of the year that I can drive on it, so after cutting the weeds I decided to add some fill dirt. The goal here was to just raise it enough so I can create an area for burning brush and to make it a bit easier to mow. I'll be able to get at the dead trees as well without burying the Kubota.

here's a few pics of progress thus far...

second area with a little better shale/clay mixed material. It should grow some decent perennial rye grass.

More to come...maybe.
