Today we mowed/brush hogged for last time this season, tilled and the fall planting, and then did some leaf lovin’ and pics(leaves seem to be turning and some good color and slightly overcast)

Checked inventory for fall service.
Not my usual, but think I’m going to skip the oil change with only 31 hours over last year. Oil just started to get some color to it last month or so.
Didn’t have to move snow often last winter, and summer was dry so didn’t mow much either. Often do 20-30 hours over the winter season.
Maybe I’ll do it in the spring. Only takes a few minutes.

Yeah, it will be fine, no need to waste time and money on perfectly good oil. Been doing that for years. Today I went and bought 3 tons of pellets, they were finally on sale, though not as low as last year, still much less than what propane costs. Finished the install for the whole house pellet stove in the basement yesterday, ran ~ 24 hours now, with a time out during the night when it ran out of pellets, but raised the temp in the house 4 degrees so far, and once it reaches equilibrium, will burn far less fuel. That coupled with the one I installed last year, should cut propane use in half or more. Thats a $1600 savings or more during the winter, and taking from that the cost, of the pellets, ~ $900 in winter savings. It might even be higher than that once I get some venting in place to get more of the heat to get upstairs. Right now it is convection heat, floors are nice and warm.
So, what did I use the tractor for? Moving around the pallets of pellets. We unloaded half of one, leaving 1000 pounds on the skid, and moved that to the barn, then the second ton is on the trailer, moved that into the barn on the trailer for now.
Oh that cab heat is NICE!!! I Like my tractor. I do need to get the tires filled and add a weight box. I am thinking, I have this bed box and 2" receiver bracket for it. I can attach that to the trailer mover and add some weight to the box, that should help a bit.

Moved this rather large (1 whole cow/4 adult bodies depending on how you look at it) 1960’s Clark freezer a couple hundred yards from the basement of one house on the property to the garage of another. Nothing but about 20lb of venison in it right now.
Always heard moving a really old freezer like this is pretty dicey as they don’t like being jostled around and often won’t restart after a move. Why that is, I don’t know. Might not even be true. True or not, I drove REALLY slow up the gravel drive. About the same speed as that thing they built to move the Saturn V rocket to the launch pad.
Freezer seems to be working fine so far.

The reason that they don't work after a move is that the oil in the compressor gets tossed around, and sometimes migrates to places that it doesn't belong. That is why you should wait 24 hours after moving a refrigerator or freezer before plugging it in after the move. The oil has a chance to settle back to the bottom of the compressor housing. Very similar to when you put your tractor on its side, you don't try to start it for a day to allow the oil to settle back into the oil pan.

Cleaned both tractors inside and out, greased the MX loader and chassis, repaired one of the hammers on the flail, moved trailers around and finally got around to bringing a bunch of logs back to the house that I cut up on my neighbors property months ago. The M handles the big 16' dump trailer without any fuss at all, with the exception of the lift arms banging the trailer frame in tight turns!

I have been away for a while with lifes obstacles(cancer/chemo/radiation) but it is fall and I needed to get on that wood I had dumped , So I hooked the 22ton splitter to the B5100E and used the B7500HST with a log pinch to load the big pieces on the splitter, yes I know the splitter tilts down to load from the ground but for me this worked out just perfect
I've never liked splitting vertically. The log doesn't stay put as well and you're working hunched over.

Best of luck to you! Sounds as if life's challenges have been hard fought! Like the way you handled the larger pieces, my back would probably be in better shape, if I would have done that in my younger days instead of wrestling them by hand.

It is so horrible to think about.
Our Lab boy (pure white) died just 5 days short of his 11th B-Day.
Wife did not want another one (I did), because she did not want to go through the horrible loss again.
(She is 76, I am 81)
I finally prevailed, and our Sadie is now three.
We are two old fogies, and we absolutely love our sweet Sadie (avatar) every minute of every day!
It is so horrible to think about.
Our Lab boy (pure white) died just 5 days short of his 11th B-Day.

moved 20yrds of compost around that i had dropped for the gardens. Really delighted to have the tractor to do that. I remember what it felt like to use the wheel barrow and I am constantly humbled by how much faster everything is.
Did a little splitting the other day and used the L3901DT to move the split wood to the area that I stack the wood. Had a load on truck and most of it needed split at least once.

Sometimes I do feel almost guilty at how much easier and faster some jobs are with a modern 4WD tractor with a loader. Some jobs are now possible that weren’t possible at all before. We had antique 2WD tractors before the Kubota but still…

They bring their ball with them everywhere, and we'll give it a toss every-so-often.
