Tesla tells owners the same thing actually, dont charge 100 percent. Not sure why but i was told that when a family member bought 1.Audi says they can recharge their EV in 10 minutes to get 186 miles(300Km) of ride back in them. Go from 5 to 80% charge in their 100Kw ,800 volt, battery pack.
Once again '80% '.... NEVER a real, FULL charge.....
I am paying $4.699Question on Off Road fuel ,,, what are you guys paying,, last batch was 5.05
Not suprising. The dealer made it seem to my sister that it would incrase battery life. She bought a model Y. Out the door 65000.00why ? It's a 'scam'.. Post the REAL time AND cost for a FULL charge and nobody would buy them. Simple.
problem is getting that last 20% of electrons into the battery isn't another few seconds for a few pennies.
'They' know you can FILL a car/truck up with gas/diesel in less than 10 minutes and have to say something 'similar' to get you to think 'gee, EV is OK for me !!'
The other show of the scam is they post mileage based on a FULLY charge battery, say 300 miles BUT they recharge to 80% and that's ONLY 240 miles, best case(no A/C,defrost, 0 payload, etc.)

Im.old enough to remember the opec stuff from 1970,s found this from the Smithsonian if your not. History repeating. On another note, apparently for some, if not most people, gas prices do not matter, they will still waste it. I took a trip last weekend to Tennessee to pick up a Tar River SAYA 505 pulling my small flatbed. I was doing 72 and being passed like I was doing 50. Not just by small cars, but by pickups and SUV's that guzzle gas.
As long as there are fools like that wasting gas, prices will stay high since they do nothing to conserve it.
Hix Bros Tractor in Tennessee is good dealer. I assume thats where you went.On another note, apparently for some, if not most people, gas prices do not matter, they will still waste it. Yeah we went from driving large American cars to s-box importsIm.old enough to remember the opec stuff from 1970,s found this from the Smithsonian if your not. History repeating.
Gas Shortages in 1970s America Sparked Mayhem and Forever Changed the Nation
Half a century ago, a series of oil crises caused widespread panic and led to profound shifts in U.S. culturewww.smithsonianmag.com
And still not self reliant consistently for energy.Yeah we went from driving large American cars to s-box imports
I have a drone with a similar type of battery. Those batteries should be kept charged at about 50%, if put away with a full charge they have a controller that will slowly discharge the battery to the proper storage level. I wonder if the EV's have such a system. I also wonder how much is lost over time from natural self discharge, it may be small but it should be public information.I KNOW about the battery tech and charging and stuff(I get daily updates on 'chips and techniques'..). My point is they 'skirt' the issue, turn it around, to make it LOOK like EVs 'recharge in 10 minutes' by NOT specifically saying it is NOT A FULL charge.
