Start new year with 2 massive magic trick
Bracket that attaches loader to tractor completely busted
It's flexing enough to bust all other bolts that hold robot together
Your other busted magic trick flexing hard
Goal for 2025: become magician enough to make those hold enough to carve earth
Plan: put tractor on block, take the big wheel off, don't do it properly, simply melt ton of steel and have it all become one piece, maybe use some brackets laying around for more integrity
Update on the tire holding for dear life: nobody can explain how it is still holding air
what you fixing to do differently to make metal hold together:
grind everything down to bare metal,
ton of heat before introducing the bronze rod,
dont forget to sprinkle ton of flux on the area you want metal to hold together
goal: efficient way to hold together machine tight so it can do its job and not bother you
up close of busted bracket that hold back left of robot complex
first hit the whole area with grinding wheel,
use jacks and big clamp to get them close together
if you have some 90 degree bracket that will fit good, melt that into the area for more integrity
I know I am doing something wrong when trying to make big structural steel hold together, but
try it with the new methods allowing nature to reveal answer to you, and if it dont work, then
there are some massive bolts laying around, and you can rig something up and melt bronze on the bolts so they do not come apart
Plan with other smaller magic tricks: implement thick steel/bracket into the situation,
summary: use magic tricks and metal laying around to make big structural steel hold together
hillbilly language: whip you out that big flame, make your robot one piece again
Ok yes I listen: "Bronze will not hold steel, it will always be weaker in this situation"
maybe: there is some big brackets I can put holes in, put massive bolts in, melts bronze on those to add more integrity
cook you those bolts that had on permanent lock, start you a fire trying to loosen them
take you off that big bracket, put it on stone, get you ready for big magic trick
@hagrid
yes yes i listen
you said use a coat hanger before and I thought you were kidding,
after rereading thread few times, you werent kidding
@hagrid saying use an actual coat hanger and get your temperature way higher, so that
you make the steel reconnect to itself, as opposed to a bronze connecting 2 steel entities, causing the weak point @russellking is narrating
ok yes let me look around for coat hanger, i dont think i have one, but we might just melt a steel bracket into a puddle and would maybe do the same thing
grind you down all area you want metal to stick together
bring you random metal to try to make it all stick together, 2 little steel plates, brackets, random metal wire, also thicker wire than coat hanger, even experimenting with an actual nail that you hold using plier
gas is flowing, you got your starter and your glasses,
first, make the bracket hold together with crazy heat and melt you the actual nail into the area, then
melt you brackets/plates/whatever on top and make new bolt holes
