Aside from being persistent, which is likely a common trait here, can anyone think of anything Joe has done that they would do the same way?

There might be some shop building content in january, but next L295 build scheduled for February/March once funding come in

This thead will go into hibernation until the next L295 backhoe build
The L295 with the loader that was built has given back more the $2500 that was invested in the entire robot complex (loader/tractor) and is still producing cash/gold for "joesmith"

As kids roaming the outdoors in the 50s my friends and I were befuddled by tire prints on creek banks and other places inaccessible to motor vehicles. One of these days I'll share some theories we had for what made the tracks.
Finally figured out they were made by hoers brought up from Mexico to chop cotton on a nearby plantation.

Update on the tire holding for dear life: nobody can explain how it is still holding air
what you fixing to do differently to make metal hold together:
grind everything down to bare metal,
ton of heat before introducing the bronze rod,
dont forget to sprinkle ton of flux on the area you want metal to hold together
goal: efficient way to hold together machine tight so it can do its job and not bother you
up close of busted bracket that hold back left of robot complex
first hit the whole area with grinding wheel,
use jacks and big clamp to get them close together
if you have some 90 degree bracket that will fit good, melt that into the area for more integrity
I know I am doing something wrong when trying to make big structural steel hold together, but
try it with the new methods allowing nature to reveal answer to you, and if it dont work, then
there are some massive bolts laying around, and you can rig something up and melt bronze on the bolts so they do not come apart
Plan with other smaller magic tricks: implement thick steel/bracket into the situation,
summary: use magic tricks and metal laying around to make big structural steel hold together
hillbilly language: whip you out that big flame, make your robot one piece again

The braze joint will fail no matter how you apply it. Think about the Iron Age taking over the Bronze Age. The strength of bronze is low compared to steel or iron.
You can weld with the acetylene torch but you would be much better off with an electric arc welder.
You can do what you want to but if you braze it, you will be doing it over again soon.
You can hire (or barter with) a welder to get it properly repaired once. Many welders will have mobile rigs and can repair it in place.

Even a cheap buzzbox stick welder would be better than brazing, but the Hazard Fraught multiprocess welders are pretty damn good these days for a bit more money.
Instead of bronze use a clean coat hanger(s). Use cutting goggles or dark sunglasses so you can see the puddle. Keep the flame facing the direction of travel along the joint. Start with acetylene only, light the torch, and add oxygen until the blue cone just becomes sharp edged.
