Yup, and every farm offers a 'free' gym membership, guaranteed to make every muscle sore.Thought for today: There's no such thing as woman's work on a farm. There's just work.

2 years ago, when the hard freeze hit, I swore I wouldn't cuss the summer heat. That lasted for 1 summer, LOL!I sympathize with you. I “was” in the same boat. We received about 6” of snow (1” of moisture) after Thanksgiving. About an 1”/week for 3 weeks. Then, a real nice 2” rain that ran off because of soil saturation. 1 pond is full & the other is within 3’ of running over. My creek is flowing again. Last Summer/Fall, I swore I would not complain about mud ever. I’m being kept out of the fields because of the wet conditions. Ordinarily it would be a curse, but I wish the same for you. No harm intended.
I did take the tree limb lopper and cut a few into 1in chunks, they still spit them out.Maybe you need to dice them up for those poor girls. They probably don't know what they are and not familiar with the taste.
Rain/snow mix now. High of 45 on Thursday & 19 on Friday. The temperature will drop to the single digits by Sunday. We got a trace of rain early this morning.
We're expecting 40 to 50mph winds this evening till tomorrow, under a Red Flag warning for wildfires.
Those Florida boys coming up here this weekend to play football will get a rude awakening!!!!Rain/snow mix now. High of 45 on Thursday & 19 on Friday. The temperature will drop to the single digits by Sunday.
I think my mud will harden up.
I wrote down and recorded a trace of rain for today, about 3 drops in the gauge... Several hours of heavy fog, enough to leave a small puddle in the skid bucket.Heavy sea fog this morning, any type of moisture and I'll take it.
Damn near 80^ degrees today. This is what we have coming in this weekend. Trade you for some sea fog. View attachment 120026
70* yesterday, cold hit us today, and the next 3 days with the wind chill it will be colder here that Hartford, CT or Albany, NY. Thursday can't get here quick enough.I went to the farm yesterday to check the automatic waterer, hay and check critters. I pulled up to the gate but walked to the barn. Snow was probably 10" when I stepped out, but where the cows had been walking was extremely muddy. Today and the next 4/5 days will solve that problem to put the truck in 4 wheel drive to back out when I left.
I hope the bees are ok? Hogs may be shivering too.70* yesterday, cold hit us today, and the next 3 days with the wind chill it will be colder here that Hartford, CT or Albany, NY. Thursday can't get here quick enough.
I'm sure the bees will be fine. They were really active til today. The bees probably consumed 4 gallons of water just at the house since Tuesday. I have extra buckets out just for them.I hope the bees are ok? Hogs may be shivering too.
