    L1500DT Transmission

Hi all, I know this was started some time ago, but for anyone's future reference wanted to clarify the reverse gear can be changed without splitting the tractor. Using the operator's seat as reference, the right side of the bell housing has a clutch inspection/throwout bearing grease fitting...

    L1500DT No Reverse

Just went through the same issue. When you shift into reverse, what happens? Grinding? Starts to move and pops out? Acts like neutral? I should be able to give you an idea based those. Joel

    Model L1500DT

Hi all. I have the same model (L1500DT). I've found that it's a cross between an L175 and L185DT. Best explanation I can give is if an L175DT was made, that would be a direct cross other than PTO speeds. If you get operation manuals for the 175 it will tell you pretty much everything. The...

    L1500 Gear Selector

Neutral. When reassembling, it's tricky to get all forks and the PTO levers lined up. Best way I found was to start with reverse and work toward the PTO gears, holding the plate up slightly, aligning one at a time. May take a couple tries. Good luck. Joel

    Rear End Dismantle L1500

Hello all, I would like to resurrect this forum as I'm in the same spot. How much is required to be dissembled to remove the rear axles and replace the oil seals? Once the axle nut is removed, can the axle just be pulled or driven out? Does the entire side bearing case need removed? Any help...

    L1501DT rear axle seal replacement

No issues with my brakes - I believe that may have been another person in the post. The picture I showed was the rear of my 1500 torn down when I rebuilt the transmission. Under some misguidance of the service manual, I opened up the rear end when splitting. It turned out to be a good thing...

    L1501DT rear axle seal replacement

Eric, Thanks for the time and reply. I believe you're correct. After looking at your pictures again, the 1501 rear set up is different that the 1500. I've attached a picture of my 1500. This is the opposite side of the leak, but just a picture I had when it was disassembled. My main issue...

    L1501DT rear axle seal replacement

Hi Eric, Can you share your steps/process for replacing the seal? How did you get the bearing case to split? How much tear down was involved? I just had the rear end all torn down on my L1500DT and after reassembly and oil fill, discovered the right side rear axle is leaking fluid. I really...

Kubota L175 PTO stops under load...

NTN and Koyo make pretty much every bearing I saw when I had my L1500DT apart. Mine did not have the internal clutch between the transmission and diff cases, but just two couplings. I'm not sure what that bearing measures out to, but I did notice the counter shafts are a standard size (1")...

    L1500DT Transmission Help

I would say that section has a set of steps that doesn't belong - possible due to a translation error, etc. The steps start off correct, but the added parts of removing the axels, pulling the pig and bearing cases just seem out of place. I'm glad I stopped to rethink. Initially, those...

    L1500DT Transmission Help

After I put in the new reverse gear my best guess is that the main shaft had a good burr on it that I didn't catch from looking through the shifter cover. When the fresh gear meshed with the main shaft, it must have grabbed the imperfection and loaded the shaft. This assumption is based on the...

    L1500DT Transmission Help

Hi all. Just an update for any who read: I've completed the rebuild this weekend and tractor is back together - well all 3 main sections. End up replacing all drive gears, main shaft, main shaft bearings, clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. For those who have purchased the service...

    L175 Restore Thread

Hey Matt, I'm located south of you in Youngstown. I just bought a L1500DT (very similar to your 175) and did a full transmission rebuild. I'd like to talk to you sometime to exchange knowledge should you ever need to get into that and likewise should I need to tear into my engine. For any...

    L1500DT 4x4 System

To engage 4wd, pull the lever on the transfer case up with clutch pedal depressed. The transmission and rear end are all connected and lubricated with the same fluid.

    L1500DT Transmission Help

Hello everyone, I'm a new member and Kubota owner. I have recently purchased an L1500DT with loader, low hours, good overall condition, known reverse issue. From this site, found out that it is a cross between the American models L175 and L185DT. Once purchased and hauled home, I put in a...
