One of the gear lever pins has 'fallen out'. After some initial investigation it seems a previous owner has 'adapted an oversize bolt' to fix the problem before, my question is before I remove the gear/pto lever selector plate to check and fix all 4 pins is there a best position for the levers/selector forks to be in at removal for an easy return after repairs? Thanks.

Havent pulled one of these apart, but many manual transmissions.
Neutral has always been my choice. Easiest to find from any gear.

Neutral. When reassembling, it's tricky to get all forks and the PTO levers lined up. Best way I found was to start with reverse and work toward the PTO gears, holding the plate up slightly, aligning one at a time. May take a couple tries. Good luck.
