When you state "removed cable" I presume you're referring to your mechanical shuttle not shifting.? If that's correct many yrs ago I had a similar situation with a M4900DT only it was stuck in reverse. I had to have manual shuttle assembly replaced.

Rockshaft piston housings normally have a thermal relief valve installed to keep that catastrophe from happening. I advise to check for presence & correct operation of TRV. I also was taught many years ago to lower all hyd attachments when not using or storing tractor.

I have a JD 3 disk breaking plow. I used it last summer to plow firebreaks around my outside stored rd bales. I think that Tufline disk plow would plow just fine. Back in my youth I spent many hours driving a tractor pulling a 4 disk drawn breaking plow.

I recommend installing manual heater hose cut-off valve & adding some refrigerant while monitoring high side pressure gauge .

Yes cable controlled FEL valve on both M4900 & M7040. Also both tractors had cabs.

Amen buddy I traded my Kubota M4900 with very sensitive FEL controls for a M7040 & IMHO the FEL control valve is much more user friendly. I can lower a rd bale with ease without the need for an extra flow control valve to limit speed of boom lowering

Many yrs ago when I owned a M4900 & handled 1000# rd bales with the front end loader when attempting to lower the boom while supporting a rd bale the boom would drop too fast. I installed an adjustable flow control valve in boom hyd circuit dialed in to my satisfaction. Problem was solved.

Fuel starvation sounds similar to a M4900 that I owned many yrs ago. Local Kubota dealer service manager advised me to check for a clogged screen in galley in fuel water separator housing. I located the tiny clogged screen & cleaned it. Fuel problem solved. YMMV.
