kubota L6060 fill fuel tank up then tractor runs for a hour. The fuel filter fills up with air and the tractor shuts off. Fill back up with fuel and the tractor self primes and runs again for a hour. You can do this over and over there is twin fuel tanks. Took tanks apart ant everything is clean tractor only has 350 hours. Thanks for your help. Also have a friend with the same tractor and is having the exact same problem thanks Dennis

That's not the fuel filter, that's the water seperator.

Because this is the fuel filter and you can't see air in it.

You need to follow the fuel line and break the connection at everypoint till you get to the fuel filter to check for flow.
DO NOT go past the fuel filter.
Common issues are:
Plugged inlet or outlet on water seperator
Bad electric lift pump, remove line out of pump and turn on key to see if it flows well.
Dirt / Clogged fuel filter.

thank you its the filter that has the air not the separator. because of 2 tanks coming toeather at what kubota calls tank reserve fue pt no 01754-50612 then goes in some fashion to fuel pump filter and separator ??? i am a tree farmer and not much of a mechani your help is appreciatedc

Let me see if I can break it down for you.

The part number you listed is a bolt, but I think you meant the tank (#060) that that bolt connect to.
That tank is air in not Fuel out hence the reason for the vent.
Fuel is transferred from right to left via the large tube at the bottom (#030).

Now If you pulled the tanks and did not connect the lines to the right ports on the pickup, you are most certainly going to have issues with it supplying fuel.

Here is the fuel pick up.

Now pull this line off that goes from the tank to the separator.
Do you get good flow?
If not then your issue is before this, possibly swapped lines at the tank pickup, plugged pickup, or plugged hose.

If you got good flow in, reconnect.
Now pull the fuel line coming out of the separator.
And check for good flow, if not there in an obstruction in that seperator, normally it will be on the input elbow.
Remove the in line and then blow air in the output and out of the input.
Junk should pop out.
Reconnect and your done.
If you have good flow move on.

Now disconnect the line coming off of the lift pump and then turn on the key (connect a scrap piece of line to that outlet and put into container to check flow.
If you get good flow move on.
If you're not getting good fuel flow, is the fuel pump operating?
If not check fuses, if they are good, check input to pump to see if it's getting power.
If it isn't you have an electrical issue.
If it is getting power then it's a bad pump replace the pump.

If you have good flow to this point.
Then remove the line to this point and check for flow with the key on.
If you have good flow, load it up and take it to a dealer and have it checked.
If you not have fuel flow, let me know and we'll go into the rest of it.

Fuel starvation sounds similar to a M4900 that I owned many yrs ago. Local Kubota dealer service manager advised me to check for a clogged screen in galley in fuel water separator housing. I located the tiny clogged screen & cleaned it. Fuel problem solved. YMMV.
