A couple of years back my neighbor's M8560 that got water in fuel tank then the water grew a fungus. Kubota dealer replaced common rail pump & injectors. Common rail fuel system isn't as forgiving to foreign things in fuel system as older technology fuel systems.

I suggest to raise 1 rear tire with a jack or your M7040. This should loosen stress on drivetrain.

I suggest to check to be sure fuel tank is venting. An unobstructed tank vent keeps exiting fuel from creating a vacuum in fuel tank stopping fuel flow. Did you replace water separator housing? If not I suggest to check for fuel flow blockage in water separator fuel passageways. Several yrs...

I'm curious why you elect to pull a heavy load such as a subsoiler(2 1/2') at a ""crack above idle"'? I guess you don't realize lugging a diesel powered engine is very detrimental to the engines longevity.

Welcome to forum Ditto on not enough fuel anti-gel or it's possible fuel tank vent is clogged.

X2 on possible faulty throw-out &/or pilot brg. which will require tractor to be split to repair as other members have stated. It would be interesting to know what other traction clutch pedal adjustments are discussed in WSM besides clutch control pedal free travel.

If not already performed I suggest to remove/clean/tighten all four(4) battery cable connections.

OP is disabled from nerve damage so I can't help my friend remove a battery from a tractor that in post #15 I stated that the no start problem was ""poor connection on slow-blow fuse" not faulty battery.

You're correct I had AC drive belt on my mind since I changed that belt on my M7040 a few months ago. Irregardless changing either or both belts is fairly easy. Both alternator & AC compressor belt fits around water pump/fan drive pulley.

My friend located poor connection on slow-blow fuse. Tractor starts when ign switch is turned to start position. Thanks for all replies.

R&R of fan belt on M7060 appears very similar to similar task on my M7040. Loosen idler pully nut, remove belt from pulleys work belt around fan blades. Repeat process in opposite direction then set idler to apply tension on belt then tighten nut. Easy Peasy.

I agree possible bad battery. . My friend stated last time we talked that he was going to load test the battery in question.

He charged battery & attempted to start it with his battery charger attached & set for jump start & nothing happened. He stated he removed starter & had it checked by a qualified starter repairman. Starter passed inspection.

My friends M9540 won't start. He has cleaned/tightened all battery cable ends. Battery tests 12.5 volts with wire loose from starter solenoid post but volts lower to 6.5 when wiring harness supply wire is attached to large starter solenoid post. Anyone know where can he get a copy of the wiring...

Welcome to this forum Sounds as if you need to acquire a M126X WSM(tech manual) then study wiring diagrams.

I agree with pigdoc by reducing coolant flow though heater core should lower temp output of heater

X2 on checking voltage while attempting to engage starter. I suggest to clean/tighten ALL FOUR(4) battery cable connections. Battery ground cable to frame connection has a long history of OVERLOOKED failures.

I suggest to clean/tighten all 4 battery cable connections. Then check battery voltage while attempting to start engine as other member suggested.
