    Toxic add

Have an ad blocker and it still shows up regardless of the screen size or position. As much as I understand the need to keep the lights on its annoying.

80 foot trench for propane line

This has been a timely thread for me - very useful. I am concerned that my 50 year old oil boiler may be nearing its end of life and getting a new oil system is out of the question around here. Looking at options but lean to propane as the only real viable, reliable option.

Do the local stations compare with each other and adjust? I would guess yes - just like the grocery stores, electronic stores...

    Fuel prices

A little perspective - two years ago many Oil cos were failing. One of Canada's biggest, largely quit Canada and rebranded in the US (Encana became Ovintive). If profit is the problem, perhaps Apple should reduce the price of it's products (not that I use them)...

Oddly I cannot see it on my past orders for some reason but here is a link to something like it - the size would have to be checked for the end use...

Tell me what NOT to do!

Be VERY careful adding fuel - a little contamination can cause a lot of problems (ask me how I know). I now use 2 filters - a Mr. Funnel and a stainless one that fits in the tank neck (amazon has them).

    New Laptop Cost

Sagor - thanks. Interesting thought - but, it is a Sony with a core duo and 3 gb ram (at the time, a decent? laptop). I expect an ISO download would be more effort than its worth especially as finding drivers could be difficult (or impossible for me - I am NOT a techy).

    New Laptop Cost

I have a win 7 pc from 2008 that served me well but when I decided to set up a NAS to escape the youtube ad nonsense it was simply not capable of downloading videos. I tried everything I could think of to refresh it (it was a Vista unit I upgraded), cleared cache, defragged it blah blah to no...

    Drain Project

I have had some decent contractors that did a good job for a fair price about 1/3 of the time; it goes downhill from there. Now, if I can do the job, I will. Learned a lot of new things that way, which I like anyway. Had a bit of a change in plan - I had bought some drains that seemed to be...

    Drain Project

Yes we have just had that discussion. I would be an expensive project around here - had a quote done 15 yrs ago and it was expensive then. It would also would be complicated by several other issues (access is difficult, those roots belong to some trees we would like to keep, something we had...

    Drain Project

The closest plug that MIGHT handle it is 50 ft away - a cord that long would make matters worse. The generator can be very close and I picked up a 10 gauge 25 ft extension cord I can use, if needed, to hook up the the 30 amp circuit. Wish me luck.

Motion thanks for the pointers - I am working with some 50 yr old pavement that is cracked and heaved with tree roots. I expect a miracle will be needed as well.

    Drain Project

To fix a water pooling problem on my driveway I am planning to install some drains and have acquired the saw and blade I think will do the job. The challenge I have is getting power to the saw which I fear will trip a 15 amp breaker (the saw is listed as drawing 1800 watts). The service in the...

    High tech garden watering

The automatic drain valve on my 25+ year old compressor corroded up so it accumulated water for who knows how long. Didn't trust it so it became my new water tank. Put some wheels, hitch, pump and switch and can shoot a stream about 25 ft. Works good.

    Ground hogs

D2 - I had some pictures from another angle that showed him sitting on the rail - all the leaves behind him are in focus, the owl in not. Another reason I need a better camera.
