    It is offical

I'm easily confused - did you mean Orioles in the Great White North? No doubt in Southern Ontario they are probably common - Vancouver Island not so much as near as I have seen. Big hummers? got me - I don't know of anything bigger than the Anna's around here. Lots of small hummers elsewhere...

Great shots - love the Rufous male at the end.

    It is offical

Used to enjoy watching the Orioles when we wintered south; they used to frequent the hummer feeders we put up. We apparently have a Bullocks variety around here but I haven't seen it.

    Chainsaw guys

We bought a small 40v Ryobi about 5 or so years ago ( it was fairly new up here then) - been great for small limbing jobs and when feeding the chipper. Also bought the Ryobi 18v 8" pole chain saw and it's great for pruning without having to get a ladder. An 18" 40v brushless came as a free...

    Daily Chuckle

Many years ago I had on oversized shepard male the local k9 squad wanted to buy. I kept him and on a regular basis a neighbors little girl (like the one on the picture) would ring the doorbell to ask if Kemo could come out to play. They would spend the afternoon running and playing - still miss him.

    They are back!

I feel your pain. I grew up and spent most of my life in Alberta, much of it northern Alberta. Snow in June is one of the reasons I am here.

    They are back!

It's been kind of a disappointing spring here; lots of stuff that was in full bloom in prior years is doing nothing yet. No doubt Rufous is late for that reason - too much snow / cold on his route north. Go figure...

    They are back!

We are pretty lucky as well - the Anna's overwinter with us; Rufous winters south and usually show up end of March. I posted this before so if it looks familiar to some... Hummingbirds in our yard during the snowfall in December 2022 - YouTube Edit - had wrong link; this one shows winter!

    Inverter generator

I can attest to this - I have a UPS to protect my NAS, Routers et al - the old 9000 generac worked ok when new but the UPS kicked it out at one point. A new cheapo 11,500 unit seems to work with it fine (for now). Both are non inverter.

Will this idea ruin the coil?

That's good to know, thanks. I did find a slightly smaller nut that seemed to tighten up ok, but if it gives up...

Will this idea ruin the coil?

The stem is stripped enough it won't tighten the existing nut but the smaller nut, double nut, metric nut all seem like good possibilities. Also sounds like a little solder won't bugger the coil which was my initial concern. Lots of good input , thanks all.

Will this idea ruin the coil?

I am working on an old JD 110 to see if I can get it running and managed to strip a coil lead thread trying to force fit an ill fitting condenser lead. I was thinking i would add a little silver solder to the stem and rethread it. Will the heat bugger the coil? Better idea? (It's a brand new...
