I struggle with this one. The libertarian part of me thinks people should make their choices and live with the consequences. But, in a socialistic society (like Canada) we all end up paying the bill for the lack of productivity, health care costs and the "attitude" created by a drug tolerant...

Thanks for the info - I will have a look at the time and parts to see if it would be better to just do it or get the dealer involved. I doubt they would do a house call and it's a major hassle to get the tractor to them.

Anthony That should be a warranty item I would think. Do you know how easy it is to change out? Hate to think I am looking forward to plugged filters and lines.

interesting about the change in resistance. For the first year all read well. Then the gauge started to read low, which was why I wondered about the panel. The carport I park in gets pretty muggy in winter so maybe that's the problem.

I have made a habit of keeping the fuel topped right to the top on the theory it would help keep any condensation from being a problem as I live in an area with very high humidity. I see my fuel gauge now reads low - plumb full shows 3/4 on the gauge. I have run the tank down to what I THINK is...

REALLY? Boy that seems counter intuitive (my panel came in a bag - no directions included). But thanks - I shall worry no more!

So I finally got around to installing a small auxillary fuse block to handle the winch, lights and so on. Powered a relay from the main accessories terminal so the new panel is only on when switched. Hooked up winch - works as it should. The problem? There are 4 little lights on the new fuse...

The days of cross country trips are over for me - was great while it lasted but the Wing is getting pretty heavy these days. Short trips in light traffic is about as good as it gets but I just can't part with it. Bought it new in 1985 and we are still together.

This sure puts all those little hassles we have into perspective. Sorry for those hit and hopeful it gets controlled.

That level is not always visible and when it is, judging now level it is can be more guess than anything. My project list includes adding a true level indicator from one the many fine ideas on this site.

I have never understood how that sticker assists in determining if the bucket is level - what am I missing?

When I left the big city to become a country bumpkin in 2004 (I would NEVER go back by the way) my new neighbor (and now good friend) suggested I get a cheap little tractor to haul garbage and the like. We found this old sears for $250 and I still use it. Doesn't get much rougher than this but...

Just read through this and am amazed at the talent and quality of work - a pleasure to see a master at work Bill.

We are on a well that produces wonderfully clear water but has lots on minerals. No lather in our showers. Some folks around here are flogging "salt free" conditioners. My antenna tells me its snake oil - is there a salt free conditioner that actually works?
