    Load bearing wall??

x2 on that and remember: when you reach the point where you're both tired of the construction mess and ready for it to be over... you're about halfway done! :) -- Carl

Solenoid chatter on my L3800 - looking for a circuit diagram

Do you have HST? If so, try moving the pedal a little while you crank to see if there's a spot where it cranks normally. Adjusting the pedal safety switch fixes that. -- Carl

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

    Foundation prep questions

Here's an update for those of you who are interested. The metal building guys design the building and specify the connections it should have to the slab, but foundation requirements vary from state to state so that's left for a local engineer to design. Florida's Building Code is tough...

    Foundation prep questions

Oh yes, I disturbed the soil. I had a 60 foot water oak that I couldn't figure out how to work into my garage floor plan so it had to go. There were smaller trees as well and lots of shrubs/roots. I didn't want to do a foundation over all of that, so I raked it out. I'm happy with it now, it's...

    Foundation prep questions

Hey Gang, Thanks for all the input. One of the things I love about our forum is how generous the members are about sharing experience. I appreciate all your attempts to keep me out of the weeds! :) This will be a fair sized piece of concrete, at 30'x50' it's beyond anything I want to...

    Foundation prep questions

I plan to build a metal garage on a concrete pad. I'm trying to figure out how much dirt work I need to do ahead of the concrete guys. I've taken out all the trees and bushes and topsoil. I'm working on raking the roots out of the soil with my grapple. How deep do I need to go? How small of a...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Great question. I spent a good chunk of the day on roots because I was trying to figure out the best way to expose them before cutting them to preserve my chainsaw blade. At first I tried digging around them to expose the top and bottom, getting the sand off of them, and then cutting with the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I don't have any special expertise, but I'm happy to share what I did and learned. I wanted to take out the tree roots and all because of some upcoming construction. Getting the tree guys to do it all would have been over $1k. I had other trees to take down, so I just paid the tree guys to cut...

    Ball hitch on grapple

I know how much you guys like pictures, so here's the finished product. I moved it to one side because there was more structure to tie into. Works great, thanks for the suggestions! -- Carl

    Ball hitch on grapple

Probably a failure of imagination on my part, but I can't picture a place to weld it on that wouldn't be in the way for some other task. -- Carl

    Ball hitch on grapple

I kind of like the idea of something the grapple can pick up and "bite" to use. You've got the lid right there, why not use it? -- Carl
