I am experiencing solenoid chatter on my L3800. My dealer says its most likely low voltage on the wiring from the ignition switch which passes through 11 safety interlock(!) switches before connecting to solenoid. A poor connection on any one of these switches could be causing the problem. Does anyone have an electrical circuit diagram for the L3800 so I can trace down the faulty connection?

Do you have HST? If so, try moving the pedal a little while you crank to see if there's a spot where it cranks normally. Adjusting the pedal safety switch fixes that.

99% chance its your HST pedal limit switches. We just went through this on another thread and that was the culprit. It was for mine too.

Make SURE that pedal is centered and you should get a good strong start. The switches are located under the lower right dash area. Open up the range, lube your HST pedal bearing and you should not have that problem again.
