Here is the FTW area, folks don't know what tire chains are. We are happy it has cooled off. We have two seasons, summer and nothot. Keep us posted.

    B20 Front Boom Jack

Charles, I think you can get those from Kubota. I have an L35 that had a leaking boom cylinder. I didn't have time to tackle it, so I had a hydraulic shop repack it. I believe they said it was an American standard 3" cylinder. Good Luck!

    bx2230 hydro leak

Red, I'm not sure what is causing your problem, but you'll find a couple of hundred threads on this forum as to what fluid to use in you Kubota. I personally use Kubota UDT. As far as keeping your tractor in or out, I keep mine inside as much as possible. Here is why. I paid 20k for it and...

Tranny Leak... From The Top! B7200HST

....b, you are right that a leaking high pressure hydraulic hose can inject oil directly through your skin. My brother lost most of a thumb precisely that way. Use anything beside your fingers to find that leak! Good Luck and keep us posted.

Finally All Back Together Now This?

I agree w/ Dusty, those plugged vents will cause funny things to happen, even cause an engine valve cover to leak when it never did before. Vents on transmissions, engines, & fuel tanks are favorite places for mud daubers to build their nests. Let us know what you find out.

stuck pto shaft on mower deck

I'm not familiar with that collar type of PTO locking mechanism. If memory serves me correctly, you pull/push the collar to lock or free it. I see that it is stuck to the mower, not the tractor. I'd continue to spray it liberally with a penetrating solvent, such as PB Blaster. I'd also try...

    How many people have cattle?

Captain, I also spent my youth on a small farm, ate good, fresh meat, veggies, and fruit. But hated the chores just like you. But I still miss the farm.

    B8200 hsd

Hey, I like your "loader-keeper-upper". If yours is like mine when all the weight of the loader is on the pipe, it would take a good number of blows w/ a sledge to knock it out. The pipe looks bigger than some of the safety rods they use to prop up dump truck beds. I liked the fire too. All...

stuck pto shaft on mower deck

Not much advice from here, but a lot of sympathy. Could you post a picture or two? Just thinking - have you tried unhooking the mower by taking off the arms and top link and driving the tractor away from the mower to give you a little more room? The PTO shaft should slide out as you pull...

    Jerky Loader on L2800

Congratulations for solving your problem. That's what we are all here for. I'm going through a similar problem w/ my L35. It had an oil leak where the hydraulic lines feed the block that raises the 3pt. hitch arms. The tractor is 12 years old and I figured the o-rings had dried out and were...

    Bigfoot and Oil Changing

I agree with Valvejob. If you do use diesel or mineral sprits to "clean it out", don't run the engine too long or you could damage it. I had a similar experience on an old JD 2 cylinder I'm trying to restore. I removed the plug to change the gear oil in the transmission/rear end and nothing...

    Kiss theory and assume

I love it. I'm sure we can all relate a similar tale. For me, my L35 wouldn't start. Checked battery, cleaned the posts, & checked the starter. Turned out the ground connection to the frame was corroded. Cleaned it and it fired right up. I was both relieved and frustrated that I didn't...

Anyone have an idea or device for 3pt anti-flyup???

Years ago, a lot of the 8N, 9N, 2N Ford tractors did not have a drawbar, only the 3PT. They used a drawbar like the one in your second picture. There was also some arms or bars that slipped over the ends of the bar that went between the hitch arms and ran up to the top-link where it hooked...

Help with hose chafing on L35/BT900

Bob, I am almost 100% sure that mine were all JIC 8 fittings. I had 1 hose to break on the boom cylinder. So I figured if one broke, the rest wouldn't be far behind. So I measured all of them and ordered them from Surplus Center (www.surpluscenter.com) for about 10 to 20% what it would have...

    Another Crazy Thought?

ETRon, years ago, I used a 3pt grading blade to cut down a bank like you have described. It was slow, but got the job done. I had to shorten up the top link as far as it would go to get the blade as high as possible. Have you considered making a ripper attachment of some kind for your FEL...

    Box scraper or Grading scraper

tarmstrong, I have both a grading scraper and box blade. I use the grading scraper much more often than the box blade, mainly because I need to maintain my gravel driveway. We had a interesting thread on this subject about 6 months ago. In it, I posted some pictures showing its use. This...

    removing blades from the deck

Skeets, I assume you have a MMM and not a rear mounted on the 3pt. Mine is a 3pt and I suck up the top link and raise it all the way. Then I just lay down and run the bolts out using one of man's greatest inventions, the impact wrench! On a MMM, I'd use one of the methods mentioned to raise...

    l185 injection pump

Rick, If it ran for 15 mins., then stopped, I'd look for trash in the line or maybe the new fuel filter is stopped up, especially if the tractor had been sitting for 1.5 years. Diesels don't like dirty fuel and won't tolerate water either. Keep us posted! Good Luck!
