    Picked up a M4050

RK - found the O ring on the parts diagram for the block, thanks. I just got in from the garage and did some testing. I filled the radiator to the bottom of the neck. I started the tractor and let it warm up. As it was warming, there was not a lot of movement. As it got warmer you can see...

    Picked up a M4050

I'll have to refill and check. Can't do it til Monday though. Looks like I'll be pulling the head. Doesn't seem that there's a simple fix. On the plus side, changing all the glow plugs just got a bit easier. Looking at the parts diagram, I'll need head gasket & shim, valve cover gasket...

    Picked up a M4050

Need a little help. Initially thought that the radiator puking thru the overflow was the cap. Got a new cap and same situation. Pulled the cap and started and it seems that there is exhaust coming thru the radiator neck. I pulled some fluid and it is green and tests well for anti-freeze...

Kubota M4500DT pics and where to source parts

Looks great! I'm currently working on a M4050 and like what you did with the wiring and appreciate the spreadsheet. A couple questions for you: 1) How was installation and removal of the front glow plug? What did you have to remove from the fuel system? 2) Did you replace the gasket & O...

    Picked up a M4050

Just got an email from Messicks that the gasket for the hydraulic filter is NLA. Not going to know what the filter & gasket are going to look like until I remove, anyone know what the gasket material is? Possible to reuse old gasket or make one? Change fluid & leave filter alone?

    Picked up a M4050

Here are a few pics in its current state. I fabbed a new parking brake connector and it's working well. Waiting on maintenance parts for fluid & filter changes. I've also been reading about the compression release on the 2600 engine. I mounted a choke cable to it that I can work from the...

    Added Tie Down Points

Don't have a pic right now, but I put (2) similar ties downs from Lowes on the front of my B7100. Matched up the weight bracket holes. I also ordered grab hooks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DPMALRC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that I installed at the rear draw bar...

    Picked up a M4050

Thanks! It does run pretty smooth and seems to have a good bit of power. I removed all the sheet metal to get a good look at everything. The power steering ram is leaky, but rest of the tractor is pretty clean and dry. Need to order a WSM, look into adjusting the clutch - it catches a little...

    Picked up a M4050

Been looking for the past few months, and made a few posts along the way. Well used (3500 hours) and needs a little tlc, but I think made a good deal with a 2 bottom plow. Anyway, its a hard starter and I just got done checking the resistance on the GP's. The results from back to front...

    Removing tines from tiller?

Wow, what I mess. I didn't consider the PTO shaft in my master plan. I ended up ordering the 4' tiller. I need to get my food plots tilled. I had a Cub Cadet 982 with a rear pto tiller that did a reasonable job, but decided to sell it last year to fund one for the B7100. Did good on the...

    Removing tines from tiller?

I have the opportunity to pickup a 5' Countyline tiller for food plots. I know it's too much for my B7100hst, but I've also read about removing tines to make it useable. I like this idea since I am also looking to purchase a 40-50hp farm/utility tractor in the near future, which would then...

    PTO won't disengage

Looking at an M5030DT and found a few issues. First, the PTO will slow when the lever is pulled up (but not stop), and conversely speed up when the lever is engaged in the down position. Engaging the clutch stops it. Not sure if this may just be a linkage adjustment or a deeper issue in the...

    large tractor small implements?

Thanks! Yes, proper shear pin in and a few extra in the tool box. Looked up the specs on the gear box and it seem to be 25-60hp. Kubotasam - that's one I didn't think of. I'll likely need a new pto shaft. Thanks for all the input.

    large tractor small implements?

I've found a 50hp Kubota 4wd. The tractor and a used set of 6' discs is at the top of my current budget, but ticks all the boxes I think I need. I currently have a 4' brush hog that I use with my B7100, would it be an issue to use the 4' brush hog with the bigger tractor? (understanding that...

    M4050 2wd thoughts

Thanks for the info, I found the thread. The data plate on the frame shows "S2600-AL", but that's all I can see right now. Good info though if I pick it up.

    M4050 2wd thoughts

I currently have a B7100HST that I use for food plotting about 4 acres a year, along with cutting/maintaining trails. I sold off another tractor/tiller combo to finance a tiller for the 7100, but now have been thinking a little different. I'm managing an overgrown 80 acre farm for deer...

    Poison Ivy

I'm pretty susceptible and have a routine when I'm working in the woods which serves me well. Clothes go right in the washing machine, I wash my hands, wrists, face and neck well with Dawn and cold water before I get in the shower. Then it's a cold shower and I wash with Naptha soap and wash...

    Game Camera Recommendations?

I run a bunch of game cams on my hunting property. I have Moultrie, Covert, Cuddebak, Primos, and HAD Wild Game Innovations. I had 3 Moultie cams, 1 got stolen, 1 died, and one is still working. Of the three they took good pictures/videos and had good triggers. I quit buying Moultrie due to...

    Planet Jr. 3 point seeder

Thanks, that's the way I've been doing it, and was looking at a seeder for larger plots. I have 80 acres (about 40 in fields) that hasn't been farmed in 30+ years and my plan is to reclaim about 20-30 acres of the fields over the next few years. A planter seems like it would make that a little...
