    Winter has arrived in Tx

We are mid 70’s today and will be 22 tonight. Working to keep the horses comfortable and not colic. Theses temp swings are really hard on them.

    Box blade

Totally get that. Santa brought me exactly nothing for my tractor too. What’s with that guy!?!

    Box blade

Wow. A little angry are we? Did Santa not bring you what you want? I don’t like clips. Is that whining? If you like ‘em knock yourself out.

    Box blade

Opps , I got my numbers slightly off. My box blade is the BB2560. Not the 1860.

    Box blade

Not sure what tractor you are running so that will make a difference. I have the LP1860. Kubota says I should have the 1260. Eh, no! My L2501 pulls that like a dream. Much heavier build too. My dealer doesn’t even carry the 1560. He says if you want to go bigger than the 12 series just go to...

    Stupid PTO question

I tend to mow backwards (or bushog) backwards in higher vegetation. That way if you hit something or run over it it is on the attachment and doesn’t damage the tractor. Go slow if unfamiliar with what is underneath. You can get underneath trees and obstacles better going backwards as well. Your...

    Stupid PTO question

Welcome. You are going to love that tractor. I love mine. Short answer is yes. Whether you are going forwards or back, as long as the pto is engaged the blades turn. They don’t reverse direction when the tractor does. I use mine in reverse all the time backing around trees etc. Enjoy your new...

    New MX5400.

Looked at that very tractor when I bought my L2501. Exclusively for the increase in fel capacity. To answer your question though requires a little more information. The MX5400 is bigger, heavier, uses more fuel etc. I like my 2501 because I can get in places, like my horse stalls, that the 5400...

Seat time on a L2501, my thoughts

I will second that Jim. Anemic compared to what. I move 4x5 round bales with ease and this was moving a hay cube off my flat bed to the barn. That is 21 bales banded together. Each bale is 65lbs. My “little” 2501 is a worker!

    Grapples?

I have the 0660 and love it. Have not used an EA. Those that have them swear by them. Not sure what I would gain by the wait. Mine does everything I’ve asked of it.

This should be interesting next growing season. Six foot Landpride cutter

I can’t speak to width but I pull an RCR1860 at 590lbs and cuts beautifully behind my 2501 so weight in my experience is not the limfac.

The new MX6000 with cab is here ... well ... almost.

You already have one. Pull the FEL of your other one until the new one arrives. Problem solved. I take it you would rather use the cab one right? Congrats By The Way!

    Daily Chuckle

Wow I thought this was supposed to be for something funny. This along with the communist nanny joke and it’s turning out to be a buzz kill. How about we keep it light. We have already had several threads killed for politics. If you hate capitalism and democracy just keep it to yourself ok? I...

    Titan bush hog?

Don’t own the Titan but have the 5 foot version of the LP. (1860). Great rotary cutter.

    50 hour maintenance?

You could also have saved about $170 in UDT fluid. I think I used about 2 quarts, not exact, probably less when I changed that filter. My total cost was about $150 for my complete 50 hour.

    Delivered and Ready to Work

You will love it. Spent a bunch of time on mine today working on drainage for the pasture. The 2501 is a worker for sure. Enjoy!

    50 hour maintenance?

Holy crap. My dealer will actually DO the 50 hour service for $300-350 Per quote. I have to get the oil yet and a little more trany fluid but will be less than $200 for everything For my diy.

    Brush hog height

You can mow with it elevated just be careful as stuff can fly out. I wouldn’t do a whole pasture that way. You can adjust the tail wheel to support the deck at higher levels. That is the safest route.

    L4701 vs MX5400

I was going by the statement the op made “I'd like to clear out anything 1" dia trunk and smaller in some areas.” That doesn’t give me the impression he was talking about clearing that land down to dirt Removing everything By that statement. No I don’t think a rotary cutter will take down those...
