    M7-151 A/C question

R134a makes for a new practice. The oil used with this refrigerant sucks up water and moisture, forming acid. Current practice is a triple evacuation, with dry nitrogen to break vacuum each time. Evacuation by itself will not pull moisture from the new oils. This is the job of a new...

    Wiring harness tg1860g

Looks to be about $200-300 for a new harness. Depends on the serial number which specific one to get. Any dealer should be able to help you, including Messicks and Coleman Equipment (mail order). How much repair work is needed on the old one?

    L175 Piston to Head Clearance

First off, I don't have a definite answer for you. But by hand cranking it would seem to have clearance. Rotating at engine speed, the question is does that clearance disappear? To do that would mean slop at the crankpin. So I would check oil clearance between crankpin and bearing; and between...

B7001e Just refuses to start !

Maybe a good idea to wet test the cylinder with 250 psi. (Small amount of oil.) If the pressure increases, then there may be ring problems also. As white tiger suggests, best to check valve lash before tearing apart.

D750 Cylinderhead Replacement - White Smoke While Cranking

Well, it does look that there is a ring/cylinder problem. The good news is that the pressures track within 10 percent of each other. I would measure the valve clearances and record before tearing down. Reset after rebuild but info that you will have should you want it later. Check piston...

D750 Cylinderhead Replacement - White Smoke While Cranking

After installing an entire brand new cylinder head; no start on B7100D, only white smoke coming out the exhaust pipe while cranking the engine. The engine is blowing more white smoke than a fog machine used in a headbanger M-TV music video from the 1980. Mike, I'll readily say that I am not...

Messed up new honda engine? Why?

X3 on ethanol gas being the problem. Carb needs taking off, apart, and good cleaning. Non-ethanol gas if you can find it. Otherwise put fuel stabilizer in to prevent clogging.

D750 Cylinderhead Replacement - White Smoke While Cranking

If you don't mind us asking, why was the cylinder head removed/replaced to begin with? Is the starter turning the engine with normal quickness? Have you pulled glow plugs to check for coolant getting into chambers? If it is, and coolant being incompressible, something will get damaged.

B7001e Just refuses to start !

You may already know this: do not let some drongo talk you into using starter fluid! This engine will not handle it and likely to cause engine damage. Cylinder compression test will tell if that is a problem. Fuel is the second. Third is heat; both from compression and glow plugs. And assumes...

    L2600 solenoid malfunction

Generalities here, because time is different for each person. First, go to kubotausa.com/parts. Shows for that machine, T1060-16800 starter assy. The solenoid, (switch, magnetic) Kubota T1060-16950. Looking at Kubota part number, dealers want about $360 for one. That's the solenoid, not the...

    HST drain plug dripping

I think that anaerobic thread sealant would be a problem as there is too much of a gap to keep out oxygen to allow the sealant to cure. A regular sealant might stop the drips, but the danger is running over something that knocks the plug out and tears out the remaining threads. I think that...

    AC/Heat issues

It could be any of the things already mentioned. I would suggest first making sure that the evaporator and condenser are clean (outsides air fins). The book values for pressures and temperatures are only valid when the components are clean.

Air path and filter clear? No critters taken up residence?

    Wrench and socket sizes?

Congratulations - I would suggest that you sit back and wait to look at it. A few "large" metric sockets for wheel nuts and the like. You can decide on hand tool or power tool once you have the machine. You won't need much.

    RCK60B-22BX

No worries yet. If it is a crack, then it may be possible to fix with JB Weld. Also gearboxes can be replaced. Will be interesting when you find the damage.

equitable way to purchase and/or share implements with neighbor

I would not co-own. If the implement takes out the side of a car, then you can both be sued. And neither of you would have insurance. The theme here is expectations. What you expect and what the other guy expects rarely match up. Something rarely used doesn't make much sense for everyone to...

tracking down a diesel fuel leak

I see a lot of good advice offered. While I don't think that I am completely tuned in to the problem, I'll throw this out for consideration. You could get some vinyl or clear tubing for the return fuel lines. Doesn't have to go in same place as the present return lines. When you substitute it...

Warranty repair at dealer where you did not purchase the tractor.

Sounds like a dilemma. If the guy on the phone is just putting you on I would not have time for that nonsense. If he was speaking the truth, it would make me wonder what other fees and surprises will be added. This is the kind of junk that drives corporate and region reps nuts. It makes the...
