    L3901

Cheap and basic SSQA snow plow?

I attached a Fisher push bar from a 1971 International scout and a 7-1/2 foot fisher plow to a SSQA plate with third function hydraulics, it plows my 340 foot driveway with no real issue. I wanted my plow to have down pressure for back dragging snow from my under the house garage driveway so I...

Anyone using 10w30 weight oil year around?

I use Shell Rotella 15-40 in my 2007 Motor Coach with a Cummins, 2004 Dodge Cummins PU, Onan diesel generator, and now my second Kubota. Never had a starting issue, all my vehicles are kept in unheated garages or barns. I add anti gel to the fuel and keep battery chargers/maintainers on all...

    Deer and a hemlock tree

I wrap all my Cedars and Yews with burlap to about 6-7 feet, last year there was no feed in the woods here and the snow came early, about a month before I usually wrap the shrubs and the deer trimmed them real well in one night. I suspect it will be two to three years before the shrubs fully...

    Gunships

Many years ago while standing on the side of a steep mountain side deer hunting I hear the sudden and loud sound of a jet engine, I looked up and I didn’t see anything. I then glanced down as a F-16 passed below at a guess of 100 feet off the tree tops, a few seconds later a second F-16 passed...

    Boom pole

I made my own boom pole to fit on a SSQA plate. It is made from sch. 80 - 2" x 10 foot pipe with a welded 1/2" x 2" lower flat bar and rebar reinforcing and 1-1/4" support pipe. It will lift rail road ties rated at 200-300 lbs. each with ease.

    L3901 won't start

Before adding shim check the placement of the HST switch lock nut. If the lock nut is located on top of the bracket it is assembled incorrectly from the factory, From your photo that appears to be the case. The lock nut should be on the bottom of the switch bracket allowing the switch to sit...

    L3901 won't start

I had a similar issue with my L3901 tractor quitting and not re-starting. The tractor would not crank and all dash indicators worked as they should and there were no codes. As a diagnostic tool my dealer had me crank the engine while wobbling the HST treadle pedal it always restarted. The...

If it is not the Seat or PTO switches check the HST “Switch, Over Drive”, item 060, PT # T1853-42790. See my previous post, I had the similar issue when dismounting my tractor, using the parking brake never made any difference...
