I'd like to put a 6 or 7 foot blade on the front of my Kubota using the SSQA function. Manual angle with three positions would be fine: left, right, and center. Some kind of a trip spring, and the SSQA plate. I've found a few with hydraulics and they are expensive. Alternately, I have an 8.5' Fisher hydraulic plow, but I suspect that might be too big for the tractor I'd be installing it on (L4060).

Thoughts?

Snow is different than dirt. Snow compacts, dirt don't (as much) so shock load is lighter so long as you use your head about pushing.

If you have a Fischer, I think I'd purchase a QA plate and weld it up. Your Fischer will have manual angle on the radius angle anyway. No need for hydraulic angle if you don't want it.

I run a 10 footer on my M9 cab. No issue

How harmful is pushing a max load of snow to the loader arms? Like repeatedly, over the course of a winter?
Not an issue at all, keep the trip springs set light and grease it regularly.

If your doing parking lots look at a snow pusher instead, much faster than a regular plow. ;)

Thanks gents. I'm just doing my driveway and one neighbor's.

The Fisher plow I have is an electric pump to hydraulics. To make it work on the Kubota would require a lot of juice. I could just carry a spare battery to run the plow and recharge after each use, but that seems like a lot of work. I think there's a shot I might try this Titan plow. They are usually always sending me some code for a percentage off. It's all Chinese junk but something like this with basically no moving parts would probably be OK.

I would find an old Fisher Plow made before the Minute Mount system. That’s what I used. Just get a ssqa plate and weld a couple sets of ears on and go. The old plows can be found for couple hundred dollars and the trip edges protects it.

That's also a thought. There is one for sale up the road from me. It's probably the original Minute Mount style though.

I don't even lie going outside after a snow and plowing but I have to keep my renters happy.

Happy renter is an on time rent payment.

I like plowing, just not when it’s freezing cold and snow blowing in my face.

Chim, those builds are pretty nice, and pretty cheap. But a lot of work. Thanks for the links.

Been looking at these for a while once I pick up my BX later this year. Seem to be pretty good quality and they'll also ship. Comes in a few different sizes, with and without hydraulic angle. I figured i'll do the manual angle and one day convert it over if it gets that annoying.
they also have a few different mount options as well.

I attached a Fisher push bar from a 1971 International scout and a 7-1/2 foot fisher plow to a SSQA plate with third function hydraulics, it plows my 340 foot driveway with no real issue. I wanted my plow to have down pressure for back dragging snow from my under the house garage driveway so I made an adjustable stiff hitch and can attach the chain for full float as the fisher was original designed if needed rather than using the FEL float function.
The only issue is if angling the plow with a full moldboard or heavy wet snow the tractor front end will skate sideways a bit, front tire chains may help that issue, I am running R4’s on a L3901 HST.
I wanted my plow extended as far forward as possible due to the fact I push snow into large piles and over a steep bank and want my tires on hard ground.
