Didn't we have some space mission some time back that had an improper O-ring or two that had a failure?

    FEL attachment to dig trench???

Coach, I think what he's explaining is as if you were cleaning out a ditch. You lower you bucket and roll it as you gently go forward. If he's going 20" deep it takes more then one roll of the bucket. Then he repeats the same operation at the end of the first procedure, and continues that...

    B6000 won't start

It should have no bubbles, but you should at least see less bubbles then when you started. But after 5 or 6 cycles of getting the air out, just tighten the nuts and see if it starts. If not, you need to do the process again. I often go thru the process the 5/6 times, then walk away and do...

    Best FEL attachment for digging

Do you really think an eighth inch too short on each end will make much of a difference when you go to bolt it in? Something has got to give that much or a washer.....? Now you get it an eighth inch too tight it would be a tad more difficult to get bolted in and removed.

    Changing Transmission Fluid - L3400

if your site glass is difficult to see because of age or too much sun, you can change it out quickly, easily and about $7 cost. You can do it with the oil already in the tractor by being quick and have the tractor leaning with that side up higher. But before the change is made is obviously easier.

    FEL attachment to dig trench???

I've got a scoop I made because I didn't want the county to come in and use their 5' bucket on a track hoe to clean I ditch I had been mowing and wanted to keep it that way. Cuts about 15" wide and as deep as you wish. It does a nice job but requires two people. It's very similar to the old...

    B6000 won't start

Loosen the nuts that hold the steel line going to each injector a couple of turns. Have the throttle set on high. Be positive you have a couple gallons of diesel in your tank. (and transmission in neutral) Turn the engine over for a 10-15 sec. burst. Wait a couple of minutes to let the...

How many hours on your tractor.

I've got various tractors/mowers with various hours. Most is around 1200 hours. Average homeowner uses mower about 50 hr/yr. Additional hours add up from other tractor work. If you had an ag size tractor used for field work hours could easily be above 8-10K after similar amount of years.

    Snake in Muffler

Several years ago I was in town on a Sat. morning at the lumber yard. As I walked out a lady put her car to a screeching halt, jumped out screaming, yelling, dancing a jig, waving her arms, saying nothing anyone could understand. Turn out she drove to town and suddenly discovered a snake in...

It might be to your benefit to find someone familiar with tractors to go with you to give it the "once over" to confirm what the owner is telling you. Better to know before hand then to buy something then ask, "How'd I do?"

    Water wetter? Thoughts?

Instead of just water on the radiator, I'd suggest a good spritzing with Purple Power, Simple Green... let it soak for 20/30 minutes then give it the flushing. It helps break the dirt loose, especially if there's any oil has ever been on the cooling fins.

Rotary cutter vs sickle bar mower

Ya, you better do as Russell suggested or you will be fixing equipment instead of mowing! You definitely have to remove or mark the junk. A sickle mower will be trashed quickly in what you describe, and a rotary mower not much better. What about you tractor in the junk? You concerned about...

    L2250 Poops out When Hot

"dogs down and dies, it is almost impossible to restart" could be air intrusion into the system. But then if you don't have to bleed it before it starts after shutting down, it pretty much has to be a lack of fuel getting to the injectors.

L3540 - Trying to identify leak

I think that pin your arrow is pointing to is like a "nail". It has a piece on the inside which restricts the hole. It often times has a spring to hold the pin in place, sometimes not. It is to let oil/fluids out from the inside and keep dirt from coming inside. How much fluid do you think...

L3540 - Trying to identify leak

Your picture didn't show up, so the arrow is not visible!! Can you clean the area as if you were going to eat off of the iron? Spray some Purple Power or something similar and spray it with a garden hose. Be sure it is dry and use a paper towel if necessary to wipe off dirt or water. Then...
