We have had lots of threads dealing with ways to tow trailers safely with tractors, and a draw bar is safest for heavy trailers especially around hills, but a tow bar attached to the 3 pt hitch is convenient because of the ease of adjusting the height, but can be dangerous. My neighbor has a really neat old Oliver with the best compromise that he uses to haul hay wagons around and back them up ramps. I thought maybe some folks would like to see it, I had never run across one before.

Interesting hitch - not sure I can tell if it limits the upward motion or not - but it is clear that man takes good care of his tractor! New tires all around, great paint. Is it mechanically tip top as well?

Yes, if something goes wrong with it he fixes it. Gets the hay in every summer. The paint job was new a couple years ago. 50 hp. I think it is kind of an antique.

That style of hitch does limit the up motion, it's a three point that is powered by a 2 way cylinder. :D

I think it was actually called a 2 point fast hitch. The best they had before the 3 point came into being.
