Some days I only make one mistake - I get out of bed!

    Forum Participation

I follow forums as long as I am interested in the subject and the content is acceptable. Some forums are just people chatting - I don't hang around. My time is more valuable. Some forums provide technical content, stuff I can learn and increase my knowledge, those are more interesting. I...

Don't leave 4wd engaged all the time

Don't forget that leaving it in 4WD all the time adds stress to universal joints, differentials and transfer cases. I only use it when necessary.

Pulling Down a Poplar Tree With Kubota BX25D, Electric Winch & Chainsaw - Video

I watched half of the video, wondering why he went through so much effort to cut down a tree. Plus with the backhoe he could have loosened the roots might have taken it all out at once.

    Cruise control - downside?

I wish my BX had cruise. I find when plowing snow my right knee hurts cause I'm pushing the pedal hard enough to help the tractor push LOL

    No tach on BX1800???

Don't do what I did. I wired it to 12 volts and found my battery dead the next time I went to use it, lol. wire the 12 volts to a circuit after the ignition switch :)

    No tach on BX1800???

I have a BX2200 with no tach. I did an add-on. It clamps to a fuel line and sense the pulses. Works most of the time. Sometimes when it is cold and I first start it doesn't work. I think it is a tiny-tach. Found this on amazon, looks similar...

    Runaway bx1880

Another reason to keep your bucket low is to keep your center of gravity low so you don't tip it over sideways. Keep it low and be ready to drop it to the ground!

    Stump bucket on a BX?

I don't think a stump bucket will be sufficient for 15-16" stump. I have a backhoe and it will take an hour or so for that sized stump. I'd recommend the grinder route. If you get a walk behind one and have small rocks use a shin protector (don't ask how I know)

    Hydraulic Problem BX-2200

Yeah, I had that happen also. Disconnected and reconnected all the quick connects and worked fine

    Home security system

I wired every window and door on the first floor and basement. Have motion sensors. Wife doesn't turn it on, says the beep from a door opening will scare them away. Have multiple cameras with a laptop running all the time. Most importantly - put up signs saying the property is protected. Have...

    Idling vs shutdown and restart

A friend of mine, when not using the tractor, moves it to an area away from where he's working and lets it idle to get the mosquitos away from him.

    Daily Chuckle

A man goes to his urologist for his yearly checkup. When he gets there finds out that his doctor is sick and the substitute is this gorgeous woman. He goes in for his exam and she is examining him. Finally she turns and says "you have to stop masterbating" The patient asks "why" The doctor...

    How good is alternate energy?

In the long run, energy derived by wind and solar uses less coal, oil, and natural gas making what we have on this planet to last longer

    How good is alternate energy?

The bottom line is we live on a planet with a limited amount of oil / coal / gas and when it runs out ( not in my lifetime) we are in deep doodoo!. I agree much of this is flailing about t this time and it doesn't seem we have a good solution as yet. But I think we still have to be working...

    BX2200 Electrical Gremlins

I worked on MG B cars, the model year had little to do with the components and wiring. When they ran out of the '76 wiring they used a '77 harness even though it was still a '76 model year. Makes things interesting! Looks like maybe Kubota is doing the same. I also worked in a test...

Telescoping 3 Point Stabilizer Kit for BX tractors

I ordered and received them. Haven't installed yet. Observations: 1. The bag they used to hold the pins and cotter pins broke open during shipment. They should use a heavier duty bag. Didn't lose anything though. 2. I would think that the adjustment pins should have spring loaded detents...

OEM or after market Hydraulics Valve for LA211??

If you decide to buy a new one: There were two versions of the valve, a 3-way and a 4-way. Make sure you get the 4-way. It will help you out if you ever decide to use the curl function for something else. Plenty of threads about this.

    Drill press bites the dust

I replaced an old Craftsman with a much newer Delta. All of the new floor mount drill presses seem to be shorter and you have to bend over to use them. I finally put it up on a stand to add 6" in height. Just something you may want to check out
