What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Like @DustyRusty I mowed last time today. Really most was chopping up leaves. Now time for an oil change. Then I’ll start getting the blower and chains on.

Anyone try these (BX tractor upgrade)?

True - this fellow is no stranger to tractors but he was hung up on the loader rating. I tried to explain to him that I was dubious about it and my rationale, but he was fixated on it. I never saw the spec in writing; just his explanation. He’s a smart guy…very smart guy. He did ask me to go...

Anyone try these (BX tractor upgrade)?

Just an observation, I mentioned in another thread somewhere that a friend of mine bought a Mahindra several years ago. Don’t recall model number, but about a Kubota B series equivalent. Major selling point to him was a supposed loader lift capacity to be nearly 2,000 pounds. Tractor...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Welcome to OTT! I suggest you make a new thread under the “Service, Repair & Maintenance” topic with the same message. Will get you more help, as there’s more pretty smart guys that focus on that topic.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I’m with @Moose7060 but on a MUCH smaller scale. I think I mowed last time today. Need to do a motor oil change and then get to putting the blower and chains on. We’re supposed to warm up into the 60’s F for a few days, but I’m okay making the winter transition sooner than later.

    L3010 No lights No Crank

Do you have a Workshop Manual (WSM) with electrical diagram? If not, get one here. www.kubotabooks.com Believe me, I'm not good at electrical stuff. Sounds like you're decent with a meter. Looks like you're throwing some parts at it. I'd try to limit that in favor of tracing down the...

    BX24

Good point. I always take my tractor out of 4WD when making tight turns out in a bare roadway. It's stiff without chains and seems more so with them.

Military Veterans Thread and other 1 Delta 10 Tango stuff.

I’m not smart enough to post the recording here. When my FIL was at basic at Fort Benning prior to deployment in Army 101 Airborne in 1944, they made 45 rpm records with messages “back home.” We have the record, but the recording is hardly discernible. Our SILs at the time were able to...

    Low Compression Identification

Understand that it’s not unusual to get some fuel smell. It would be unusual to get a coolant smell, even if “mixed in” with the smell of fuel if that makes any sense. Sometimes head or head gasket problem will prevent the cylinder from firing, thus mixing coolant and fuel odors.

    Low Compression Identification

There’s a big difference between the “sweet” smell of coolant from unburnt fuel. Lack of a better way to put it, I’ve often described the unburnt fuel exhaust as “rich,” but still certainly smells of fuel. If you boil a couple drops of coolant on a hot surface, the smell is very distinctive...

    Kubota BX2380 Fuel Shutoff Valve

Follow the Kubota illustrations I linked before. If you’re in Canada, there’s a similar option. Make sure you have followed the directions in the WSM, as well as what @whitetiger mentioned on post #4. whitetiger really is an expert. He’s forgetten more about these machines than I’ll ever know.

You never said what tractor you have. Someone here looked it up from your old posts. Not sure that still applies per your response. We’re supposed to guess your tractor model and serial number? How does that work when you go into an auto parts store for your daily driver vehicle? First...

Nesting dates for ground nesting birds?

It’s surprising how early many bird species nest. Young ones are fledgling pretty early depending on species. Raptors in our area are February or so. Many songbirds are May. I think turkey and Canada geese are similar.

    Kubota BX2380 Fuel Shutoff Valve

If you don't have one, get a Workshop Manual (WSM). Throw the guy a few bucks for his efforts. www.kubotabooks.com Should help with diagnostics. I think your BX2380 is very much like my BX2360, just newer. From Kubota Tractor Corporation - Illustrated Parts List (kubotausa.com) My...

Fixing hole in side of block

Tangent - - for many years Harbor Freight was an hour trip I made a couple times/year. One just opened 9 miles (16 minutes) from home in direction we normally drive by. I spent $10.78 this morning on another 6" magnetic parts tray ($1.99) and 100- 15" zip ties I realized I didn't need when I...

    Snow removal

From an insurance standpoint, does sound like you're better prepared than most to do it. Maybe doublecheck with your agent/carrier just make sure you're in good shape - just a thought? Can you drive the tractor to customers, or have to load/unload? What are the driveways like...

    Snowblower?

I've had the BX2360 for 11 years now. I typically have the FEL on early spring and fall when I'm not mowing. If I don't need the FEL, I'll go right from blower to mower, and visa versa. Like @mcmxi says, it has gotten to be more challenging putting the blower on as I get older. Same with the...
