Nesting dates for ground nesting birds?

Obviously will vary by location. First thought was contact your state's wildlife department. In New York, dams are supposed to be mowed annually after July 15 to prevent woody plant establishment. Since both dams and wildlife are regulated by NYS Department of Environmental...

    Snowblower?

I’m central New York. I don’t have a date certain but November 1 is likely a typical date for me. I really don’t like putting chains on in very cold weather.

    Snow removal

While I do my neighbors driveways on occasion when we have big storms, I don’t charge anything. Mowed a one acre lawn at vacant house 6 years or so. Owners next door appreciated it. Not sure what/if insurance you have on your tractor, but many policies don’t apply if off your own property...

BX throttle handle knob keeps falling off.

Mine has been a little loose for 11 years. Lost it once in the woods but found it. I live with it. If I ever need to pull it off, makes it easier….

Does regen have to be terrible?

Yes, saw it was an “N” tractor for narrow. When you said moving pallets of apples makes sense. Don’t believe the narrow matters for transmission options of that horsepower range. Any other model tractor you look at will have emissions systems requiring a minimum RPM. If the drivetrain isn’t...

Does regen have to be terrible?

Only been watching your thread, but I agree an HST may have been the better choice for a tractor. A lot of folks are dedicated to a gear-driven drivetrain of some fashion and I understand that. Sometimes the more modern options do work better. What are the options for an M5 tractor? Good...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

I readily admit I know nothing about this type of equipment but really enjoy learning about it from threads like this and you folks that have worked with the equipment for many decades. Much appreciated.

BX23's are NOT for mud gripe!

It's great you like working with your tractor. Trust me, not being critical. I really think you bought the wrong tractor for your needs/expectations. I did the same but have been able to accommodate. Within a year, I realized I should have gotten a "B" series instead of the BX. I'm not sure...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

This is somewhat of a deluxe version but I think it was $35 or so on Amazon. It has a longer hose than others, has a valve at the discharge side and is supposedly okay for use with gasoline. I use it more on my old Moline tractor with gasoline. Need a longer hose for that.

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

Since my retirement a couple months ago, Geddy and I have gotten into a routine. At about 3pm, we head inside for some housework like empty dishwasher, dinner prep, etc. Picture was 2:45pm .Geddy’s saying “time to go inside for my nap. I’m tired.” He’s had a very busy day.

How about some 140w gear oil in the front diff?

I would put it in the freezer, not the refrigerator to check viscosity. I see you’re in VA. Freezer would give you worst case scenario. In upstate New York, I’ve had to blow snow at -8 degrees F. Just a thought.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mowed/chopped up leaves then refueled Maybe one more trip before chains go on and get snowblower ready to go on. An aside, we lost power a couple weeks back. Had to get ethanol gas just in case. Thankfully didn’t need it, so pumped it into the truck. Those little battery operated pumps are...

Fixing hole in side of block

You say this almost daily without any information beyond your own opinion. Say it enough times it must be true. We all saw it on the internet. I suggest you not buy a used Kubota from North Viet Nam, Texas, or any other US State that could have a "panhandle.":rolleyes:

Lost hydraulics to front end loader

Fix the problem with the 3 point hitch first. If the 3 point hitch feedback rod is not adjusted correctly and it's fully up it may be the problem with the loader. You can get a Workshop Manual for your tractor here - - will give you instructions to do so. www.kubotabooks.com

    L3901H won't start

Need a lot more information. Is this a L3901HST - - there's no L3901H? It cranks, but does not fire? Any smoke from the exhaust? Color of smoke? What is the service history? PS - - Just saw your video. Check the cable connections of the battery to the tractor. Both ends of the both...

    L4600D Center of Gravity

Probably a foolish question, but can 4 tire scales be used on each wheel to calculate COG? Maybe both with loader on/loader off if needed? I know some now retired NYS Troopers that did Commercial Truck Enforcement. They had those small scales in their vehicle that would weigh each wheel/axle...

    Snow chains…do I need them?

And that's an L47. Pretty stout TLB with the BH off in favor of the rear blade. The OP is looking to push snow with his BX TLB loader bucket also. I'm not familiar with his snow amounts, but that looks like a great reason to get chains! ;)

    Snow chains…do I need them?

Haven't used them myself, but many have and recommend them. I've shopped their site several times. Tire Chains-Best Snow Chains-TireChains.com I actually bought mine from a local hardware store that ordered them in from an unknown source.
