Kawasaki uses several configurations for their carburetors, the one used on the ZG227 is not a one-off design. If you take the numbers off of the carburetor and do a search, you can see where all that configuration was used.

Take the belt off, turn the key to the ON position (engine OFF), and turn the AC on. If you can not turn the pully, shut the key switch OFF and try to turn the pully. If it now turns, the compressor is locked up.

I was just curious, the Briggs has a plastic intake and the Kohler has an aluminum one. We replace Kohler intake gaskets once or twice weekly during mowing season. I seriously doubt that one could warp. I have seen a Briggs plastic intake that was split though.
