You can use BX60 series fenders as they are close to the same and are metal. There are one or two simple modifications that need to be made.

When replacing the couplers, especially for the loader, both male and female should be replaced. A failure or malfunction in one often causes damage to the other.
A lot of times, if you replace one and the system works ok, the other will fail shortly and here we go again.
Kawasaki uses several configurations for their carburetors, the one used on the ZG227 is not a one-off design. If you take the numbers off of the carburetor and do a search, you can see where all that configuration was used.
Take the belt off, turn the key to the ON position (engine OFF), and turn the AC on. If you can not turn the pully, shut the key switch OFF and try to turn the pully. If it now turns, the compressor is locked up.

I was just curious, the Briggs has a plastic intake and the Kohler has an aluminum one. We replace Kohler intake gaskets once or twice weekly during mowing season. I seriously doubt that one could warp.
I have seen a Briggs plastic intake that was split though.
First, do not ever spay starting fluid into a small air-cooled engine, ever!!!! Use carburetor cleaner, which is one of its intended uses.
Is this the Briggs & Stratton engine?
I have never seen an intake manifold warp, but I have found a lot of intake gaskets or seals leak.

The steering is supplied from the rear section of the tandem pump. The front section is supplying the hydraulic lift and blade.
I suspect that you have the blade control in constant pumping which is to run a rotary broom or blower only.
