L185/L1801 oil pressure and coolant temp question

If you are concerned about water pump, cold engine, start tractor and watch rad to see what temp thermostat opens, should notice water flowing. Water pumps rarely stop moving water. They usually leak and bearings fail. Only a couple times have i seen impeller fall off. Ford used a composite...

L185/L1801 oil pressure and coolant temp question

Was in wpg today. The capillary type is 3/4 inch daimeter thread- give or take. Im thinking 1/2 npt. It will be worth the trouble once you get it sorted out.

You wont get the capillary type in place of the electric one.

L185/L1801 oil pressure and coolant temp question

Like your buddy says, a resistor to correct calibration. 250 that thing should be pushing steam out. Most rad caps will buzz or howl when boiling over. I figure its reading high, especially after putting a heat gun on it. Too bad its so high, hard to use for reference when-its topoed out. 12.7...

    B2920 won't turn over.

Glad you got it solved, actually its a very common failure. Depending where it cracks internally- yours dropped all but one cell. Up here the extreme colld takes its toll on batteries,-28 seems to be the breaking point for a battery on its way out. Sell more batteries in the first week of -28...

    engine will not rev up

If its like the d722 i work on, theres a fuel pump on the engine. The furl filter screws to the base of it.pull inlet line off injector pump and check how much fuel flows out. Keep in mind, you need to bleed the air out afterwards. The d722 on our genset is the same too, fuel pump on block.

    B2920 won't turn over.

If battery went 12to 2.5,its done. You charged it and thats all i need to see It is cracked internally. A dead short on tractor wouldnt pull a battery down that low, at least not without releasing a lot of magic smoke.

I have an opinion, a voltmeter is better for indicating problems than an ammeter. Less wiring to give problems too. All your alternator current flows through ammeter.

    B2920 won't turn over.

Pull your positive and negative cables off the machine, clean where they connect to the starter and ground. My experience is the ground goes bad, allowing a little power through and going bad as soon as you load it with starter. With a helper, put volt meter connectors on battery, right on...

    B21 engine oil

I prefer using synthetic- at least in gas engines. Better filtration and improved cold weather viscosity. Longer run time between service means less oil changes and fewer oil filters to buy. It is very popular in cold climates.i will be switching mine over this fall, found a snowblower so i...

    B2920 won't turn over.

You mentioned panel lights seem dim, does is click and lights go out? Connections at battery and starter as well as at ground connection. Tillers shake machines pretty hard, loosening connectors and breaking wires. I doubt wiring broke, its too young for wire to work harden and break.

L185/L1801 oil pressure and coolant temp question

Meanjean, you have pictures of your install, i am curious to see how you did them. Nice to be able to monitor oil and coolant in case something goes bad. As far as oil pressure goes, 15 psi at idle, could go as high as 50 or so when at pto rpms. Your engine could vary either way, depending on...

    Question about Pallet Forks

Drop bucket and take a picture of mount on bucket. If it looks like the same mount, most likely it will work. Different brands use visibly different mounting systems. Rental outfit may have a couple different types.

    M5400DT fuel line bleeding

You know when i learned about bleeding injectors, was 30 years ago. Crack em all, crank and close when the squirting starts. Was something that needed to be done on the old link-belt dragline every morning. All the while fighting to keep the pup motor running. These little motors are a little...

What have you made for you tractor

Lots if good stuff. Heres my take on hitch reciever. Centre pocket is for ball hitch. It works great for moving trailers around my storage building, easy to line up. Forks fit pallets well, would guess moved 500 lb pieces no problem.

    L3800 and Snow Pusher

Up here, this past winter was the coldest in 80+ years. The amount of snow was ridiculous. By the last storm there wasnt much room to bank anymore snow. A pusher blade on fel would be a good way to go, and a blower? Oh yea! Get it both ways. Especially if you can get some angle out of it.
